Due to the fact that I rarely, err, if ever, write non-serious blogs, I thought it’d be nice to give everyone a little incite into what it’s like being on the World Race.
You know you’re on the World Race when….
1. The electricity goes out on three different occasions at the movie theater, and you’re surprised it only went out that few times.
-
You realize that taking a hot bucket shower is way better than a cold regular one.
-
Having introverted time means going into your tent. With the rain fly on.
-
You get excited for extra long flights on travel days, because it means you can watch that many more movies.
-
Wifi and outlets are always in high demand, but short supply.
-
Everyone on the squad knows when you buy a new shirt, because they constantly see you in the same three for approximately the past six months.
-
You learn that adding more instant coffee isn’t like adding more hot chocolate. It doesn’t get more delicious the more you add. The opposite, in fact, is true.
-
You learn how to quickly change the time on your watch, computer, ipod, and other devices, because you pretty much have to do it in every country.
-
When you find a hair, bug, or piece of dirt in your food, and you promptly take the said item out of your food, and continue eating.
-
Not having to hand-wash your clothes, haul buckets of water from a well, or use a squatty potty means your living conditions are nice.
-
You learn that more isn’t always better. India. Curry. Enough said.
Merry Christmas everyone, and happy New Year!
