What's a "squatty?"
As I’ve been getting ready for the World Race, I’ve had a lot of people ask me about how I’m going to prepare for all the changes I’ll be making. Eating rice and beans for months, using different toilets (the squatty kind, yes), taking bucket showers, doing my laundry by hand, sleeping outside, those kinds of things. They wonder why in the world I want to spend 11 months doing things that are not so fun.

Nutella and febreeze can only cover up so much…
Honestly, I didn’t sign up for the World Race because of those things. I’m not super excited about not being able to take showers or have clean clothes all the time (febreeze and deodorant can only go so far). I’m not crazy excited about eating strange, unidentifiable foods (I can only put nutella on so much). And I’m definitely not excited about flying to all these places (being afraid of heights will kinda do that to ya).

The legit stuff.
I’m excited about the World Race because it’s all about Him. My Father knows my heart, and He wants me to learn more about Him so I can share His story with others. He wants me to be broken so He can heal me. He wants me to be full so I can pour out His love to others. He wants me to close my eyes so I can see people the way He sees them. Lastly, He wants me to follow Him wholeheartedly. Christ doesn’t call us to follow Him when it’s easy, when it’s safe, or when it’s convenient. He literally calls us to deny our selves, take up our cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24).

Will it be easy? No.

Will others understand? No.

But will it be worth it? Yes.
