Jelly Fish Continued.. still in feince sei:

John 13:12 ” After washing their feet he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, ” Do you understand what I was doing?” You call me teacher and Lord, and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each others feet. I have given you an example to follow, do as I have done to you.”

One day in particular was really humbling, and the Lord taught me not only about being a servant, but being served. It’s so much harder for me to be served than it is to be a servant. I tend to be much more of a Martha in general, and just being chosen as a leader for this year made me revert more to that “do-do-do” mode. Luckily the Lord saw that, and knew what I needed to start this journey. Through Jellyfish stings, I was brought back to a place of rest, a place of humility, and a place of dependence on the Lord and not my own doing. On this particular day I was laying down in our room crying, because I was hurting and confused, and our house mom Rebecca came in the room and sat beside me and just started crying with me and praying over me. Then she left the room and came back with a tub, lifted up my legs and sat down underneath them and began washing my feet. She not only washed my feet, but gave me a full on pedicure even painting my toe nails. She kept telling me to just relax, and be at peace. Afterwards she got out her wedding photos and I got to share memories with her, All because of Jellyfish stings.

The Lord is teaching us what it looks like to have a servants heart. Others first always. Pray that we would step into that as a team, that we would be fighting over who is the first to serve, not the first to receive. That we would serve each others needs above our own, whether that means giving up a run, because someone needs to talk, or trying a new form of worship, because it builds up our brother or sister, or going through some smelly diapers to clean up a sports court for kids, or wading through trash to give one hug, it’s what we are here for. We were created to serve.
