Books I le lurve-
I’m learning to love and appreciate the bible, i can’t always say that I have, but looking at it knowing they were real people like you and me, has put it in a whole new light. If God showed up in big ways for those generations, who’s to say he won’t in this generation? Feeling compelled to read on instead of guilted.
* Jane Austin- sense and sensibility is my favorite
* Georgia Nicholson’s adventures- for the sake of pants! Do eyebrows grow back?
* Suzanne Collins- The Hunger Games series.. new one comes out on monday aug. 23rd at midnight yay! A small group of some of my closest friends read this series aloud together this past winter, I will be sad to not do so with the 3rd book
* The Red Tent- this is fiction based on fact, but it really opened my eyes to think about what people in the bible must have felt like, their emotions, what they were going through in their walks of faith, plus it is the story of rachel ( my namesake) and jacob.
* Irresistible revolution- i would love to one day have a home with other women, or my husband and open it up to women and children who are struggling, and have a community that all did their part to support one another and be a part of each other’s lives.
* Searching for God Knows What?- Donald Miller
* Through Painted Deserts- Donald Miller ( the best author’s note I have ever read.. yet)
” I want to keep my soul fertile for the changes, so things keep getting born in me, so things keep dying when it is time for things to die. I want to keep walking away from the person I was a moment ago, because a mind was made to figure things out, not to read the same page recurrently.”
* Anything by Roald Dahl- The BFG
* Passion and Purity- Elizabeth Elliot
* Sex and the soul of a woman- Paula Rhinehart
* Mark of the Lion Series- Francine Rivers
* Redeeming Love, Lineage of Grace- Francine Rivers
