Looking for jobs can be discouraging. When you get through a 900 page application to stock shelves at Target and receive the message “Thank you for applying, but you are not a fit for any of our openings at this time”, your confidence can take a little dip.

So, again thinking about finances and again wondering how in the heck I am going to meet my fundraising goal to go out on the mission field, I decided to check my mission account balance. What I saw nearly made me look like this:

The number had shot up drastically since I last checked it. Some dear friends had contributed, a couple of generous anonymous donations and one, very large anonymous donation of one-thousand dollars had been placed in my account. Yes, one thousand whole entire dollars. One. Thousand. Dollars. I still can’t wrap my mind around it.

Last night at Bible Study I was prayed for again in the finance arena. That I would have peace and further confirmation for the trip and that God would bless me in fundraising. And justlikethat the prayer begins to get answered with an anonymous blessing. Sometimes I just can’t understand why the Lord would be so good to me. It must mean He’s got some really big things for me to do around the world and some really big things to show me while doing it.

So, thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who have given so far and to those who plan on contributing. I cannot express to you guys how humbling it is to receive support.

But, in all seriousness, it really melts my heart in a way that cannot be expressed in words. Every little bit, from the gift of one dollar to one-thousand dollars, nearly makes me cry every time I see it. It means provision from God and friends who believe in what I am doing. It means a community of people who love enough to sacrifice their hard-earned money to give back to the kingdom through what I am doing around the world. It’s love. It’s….beautiful, really. I hope I’m not coming off like a cheesy Christian commercial or whatever, but all of this love, this support, this security and this faith is remarkable and is changing me already.

So thank you again. And thank you, Anonymous, wherever you are. You’ll never know the full impact your gift has had, but I will do my best to be worthy of it and I will do my best to report to you how it is being used to spread Good to the ends of the earth.

With Love,
