Dear Family and Friends,

For the last five years, I have been slowly working towards my Bachelor of Science degree. In December of 2016, I will officially be one degree smarter and will have to start figuring out the next steps to take in life to eventually fall into a career that I am passionate about. I am currently working at the Calgary Gymnastics Centre and I absolutely love it there. Between working and school, I have been able to do quite a bit of travel and have fell in love with the world and the people who live in it.

I chose a science degree because the medical field was where I wanted to end up. At the moment eight more years of schooling does not excite me one bit. While med school is not totally out of the question yet, I want to be 100% sure that is where I want to be, before I commit to the stress and the student loans that come with it. My original goal was to become a pediatric oncologist and work with Doctors without borders and bring medicine to places that do not have access to it. This decision was guided by a mission trip I took in the summer of 2008 to Peru, where we worked with street kids. I wanted to help the less fortunate; little did I know, seven years later my heart for helping these kids did not change but how I am going to help them has. It was on this trip that a little seed was planted in my heart for ministry and travel.

School has not been easy on me and there have been many nights of crying and no sleep in order to make deadlines. There have been many times I just wanted to give up, book a plane ticket and go somewhere. Last December, I started questioning whether I was in the right degree and I was thinking of taking a year off to live out my dreams of seeing the world. I started looking at different mission trips and came across a trip called the World Race, which is a discipleship program ran by Adventures in Missions, and my heart instantly fell in love. One year of praying and reading blogs and reviews, I realized this is where I need to be. I can’t wait to see how God uses me, all around the world.

The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

This trip will bring many challenges, and I am sure, many more rewards. I am seeking your help in many different areas. First and foremost I am looking for prayer, pray for me as I prepare, physically, mentally and spiritually, and for my squad mates that have already and those that are in the process of applying. Subscribe to my blog by clicking the little orange button in the left hand corner, here you will find updates before, during and after my race. Share my story; if I write something that inspires you let people know what I am doing and how God is working throughout the world through different missionaries. Lastly, one of my biggest challenges will be financial support, like other organizations AIM requires World Race participants to fundraise financial support, in order to be fully funded, I need to raise $17, 017. 00 USD. This will cover training, travel, lodging, food and other necessities while in the field.

As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me by either donating monthly or on a one-time basis?

If you have any more questions about the organization or my decision to step out in faith, please feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to meet up with you and let you know more about the trip and my story. To find out more information about the organization you can go to www.adventures.org or if you want to learn more about the World Race program visit www.worldrace.org or like them on Facebook.

 Thank you and Blessings,

Quinn
