In India we were bl3ssed to be living in a small apartment and working with 12 amazing children. We learned that support raising can be hard, but if we put it into the L0rd’s hands and have trust, we will be provided for.
Nepal was all squad month. This month we lived in a 4 story building we called the treehouse. We did multiple m!n!st!es this month. We pr@yer walked, we hung out in the slums, we did house visits, we hung out at dance bars and talked with girls stuck in the sex industry and we did village m!n!stry. No day ever looked the same, and I learned to always expect the unexpected and to enjoy every moment.
Vietnam! It only took 50 hrs to arrive at our final destination but I cannot believe we are in month 3, the last three months have flown by, but at the same time I feel like I have been on this trip for years. On the race we like to say that the days are long, but the months are short.
This month we are residing in a mountainous small village. We have a small coffee shop down the road and are surrounded by fresh fruit stands and ‘restaurants’ more like small cafes that only serve pho.
An interesting fact is that the vietnamese around here do not cook breakfast. Our host cooks us lunch and dinner, but we are on our own for breakfast. Pho is the breakfast of choice, but my team and I like to stick with Tr?ng trên bánh mì (Egg sandwich). This is only sold before 8 AM and is another classic breakfast food.
Our m!n!stry this month is teaching English to all ages. We run a p@stor class where we teach them b!bl3 songs in English, fun games and how to carry a conversation. In the evening when the children are done with school, they come and hang out with us. We help them with their homework, play games with them and engage a conversation with them. Teaching english is not the easiest thing I have done, but it is really cool getting to just talk with the kids and hear a little about what they like to do.
On Friday nights, we get to do sports m!n!stry. My team gets to show our soccer skills and play against a girls team. We get to show the love of the L0rd through loving on them, celebrating with them and showing them that you can win or lose but still be j0yful!
Weekends are spent running English clubs. We get to sing, dance, play games and converse with children from primary school age to high school. We get to share our stories with them and love on these kids!
This month, includes a lot of down time and relaxation which is amazing! We get to enjoy being together as a team and diving into one another. We get to pursue each other and grow deeper in our friendships. We have all been incredibly blessed by all of you and I would just like to thank you for helping me get here.
Vietnam is amazing and wonderful! It has a lot more in store for myself and my team and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.
Every month brings a new task and a new lesson learned! I am only one week into this month and I can’t wait to see how the k!ngd0m continues to grow this month!
I still can’t believe that I am finally living this life. Something I have been pr@ying and dreaming about for 2 years is finally here and 2 months have gone by. This life isn’t as exciting as you think, yes there is adventure, there is many sights to see and I am living across the world, but I am still just living life. I work 6 days a week and sometimes just want to have a break, I don’t get to go home to a comfortable bed, or eat something I am craving, because it is just not available. We are just living our lives as if we would at home, but without the comforts of home and with some added adventures in there! Just remember life is an adventure and take advantage of wherever you are at!
Vietnam is a closed country so please be cautious when commenting!
Love,
Quinn
