Hey everyone!!!

Big updates in this blog! First of all, in 3 weeks I will be in Georgia! That’s surreal to think about, just 21 days until I’ll be officially on my World Race. However, as most of you have probably noticed, COVID-19 has changed a lot of plans within the past 6 months, including my World Race travels. Instead of leaving the country right away as was the original plan, my squad and I will be living in Gainesville, Georgia from September to mid-December learning about God, digging into the Bible, working on leadership and team building skills, and hopefully serving in local outreach projects, if the state guidelines allow. Then, hopefully in January we will be able to travel internationally and serve in other countries, as we planned. Although the countries are unknown to my squad and I at the moment, we trust that wherever God wants us, we will go with servant hearts and spread the love of God in those countries.

Another update: I only have about $1,550 to raise until I am fully funded for my trip!!!! That is unbelievable and I’m so incredibly thankful to each and everyone of you who have supported me both financially and through prayer. That being said, if you are interested in donating or helping me out in anyway, feel free to reach out to me and I’ll let you know how you can help! Thank you so much!

Last but definitely not least, I would like to talk about the stars. Well, kind of. So, a couple days ago, my hometown of Ankeny, IA had a very damaging thunderstorm. It basically looks like a tornado went through our town, tearing up rooftops, uprooting trees, damaging houses, etc. My family was very blessed to not have any damage done to our house or belongings, however, not everyone was so lucky. When I wrote this, it was 9:30pm and very dark outside. Although there was no damage to my house, my entire neighborhood, along with many others in Ankeny, did and still do not have power. Streetlights, homes, gas stations, nothing…no light. It’s very still, very quiet, and very dark. But as I was getting home last night, and as I got out of my car, I noticed the sky. There are stars…so many stars. On any normal night, you’d be lucky to see hardly any stars because of the amount of light pollution from the town. But on this night, in the midst of everything that happened today, the stars are shining bright as ever. It reminded me of how in the Bible, God says He knows the stars by name…every single star. Just like He knows and loves us. Throughout all of our troubles from day to day, whether it be a damaging thunderstorm, COVID-19, work issues, financial problems, arguments with friends or family, anything, He’s got us. He loves us and He won’t ever let us go. There’s a song by a christian band, Skillet, called “Stars” that talks about this exact situation.

“If you could know the Stars by name, you would know my heart the same…Your love has called my name, what do I have to fear?”

We have nothing to fear when we stand in God’s love. So do just that. God’s got you. He loves you.

Love you all! Thank you for everything:)
