Surrendering my rights and my expectations was one of the first challenges coming from our AIM staff at the beginning of training camp.  We were asked to seriously consider laying down our rights and expectations in the areas of race route (which we’ve already experienced this last month when Egypt was taken off our route and instead we had an ATL in Albania) and our leadership and teams, which we are just beginning to discover what it is we actually surrendered and continue to surrender through some new developments today.

Last night, our current squad leaders, Caroline Crawford and Aaron Bruner, shared their hearts for our squad to be a squad of worship and of leaders.  In keeping with AIMs goal to raise up a generation of leaders, Brandy Chaffer and Dan Snyder were called to step out of their roles as team leaders to become leaders of our squad.  We have also seen Brandy and Dan grow into amazing and mighty people of faith, who love Dad and love us and speak the truth in Spirit and in love.  We are incredibly excited for them as they step up into these new roles and submit to their leadership and their authority.  Please be thinking of them as they make this transition.

Coinciding with the raising up of these leaders in our midst, we have also recently experienced a change in our small teams, our “families.”  All of us are still digesting and processing the changes that have occurred and are balancing both missing team members that we’ve built close and lasting relationships with and welcoming new team members with openness and excitement for what they have to offer and challenge the team in.  Please be thinking of us as we’re still struggling to be at peace with these changes and to continually surrender to our leadership and trust that Dad is in complete control and He is sovereign.

Team Triumph has been an incredible blessing to me over the last few months, but it’ll never be the same without Aubrey Rainbow.  Her strength and courage to speak the truth in love even when it was hard and her desire to grow deeper into the woman Dad created her to be is unparalleled, but I trust that He has greater things for her in her new family.  Even tonight, she reminded me of how Dad breaks us into a million pieces over and over again to cement new people into the mosaic that is our lives and even though we can’t see the bigger picture yet, He is the incredible artist and creative genius, who is in control of our lives and He is making something beautiful of us.

We welcome Rebecca Campos into our family (http://rebeccacampos.theworldrace.org).  She is an incredibly wise, wonderful, willful woman, who is an intercessor and worshipper.  Her wisdom and strength will challenge and push us to greater depths and heights.  We eagerly anticipate what Dad is doing in and through her and the ways that we will come alongside her as her new family.  While being vulnerable with new people does not come easy to me, I was reminded in worship tonight that Dad did not call us to be vulnerable with particular people in our lives, but to be vulnerable and open period.  He is pushing me to live unhindered, completely available to the people I encounter, wherever and whenever.
