A part of this pilgrimage and journey is a personal search for a Biblical Christian community that lives out the gospel in their everyday lives. Here in Galway, I have found a community in Abundant Life Christian Centre that lives out Romans 12:10-12 “Be devoted to one another in brotherl love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, paient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”

Daily prayer at Abundant Life means an hour of concentrated and dedicated time to intercede for the city of Galway and the few Christians that are here with each other. This year, Abundant Life pray corporately and individually for restoration and praying with faith for wisdom and revelation. During one of my first prayer meetings, I met
Michelle, a young Czech immigrant in Ireland, who became a Christian a couple years ago through the evangelism of a friend. Daily, Michelle prays for the salvation of her family members. She is an inspirtion to me for the way enthusiasm and compassion she has for sharing Jesus with her family, especially her brother and sister. She has incredible joy that is contagious and life affirming, despite her history.

Over the course of the last 2 weeks,
Michelle and
Jacinta, mothers of teenage boys, have blessed our team with an incredible bounty of home-cooked meals and fellowship. Last Sunday afternoon, Michelle barbequed for us and prepared a spread of different salads. As yummy as the food was the best part of the afternoon was a spontaneous worship session in Michelle’s backyard. I couldn’t help but think, “this is what community is supposed to be like… spontaneous
worship with friends.”

These ladies have blessed us beyond what they even realize through their hospitality and their desire to serve God by serving us. They welcomed us into their homes and shared their families with us without reservations. We have been blessed by their faith of healing for their families and continue to pray for healing for Michelle’s son, Jonathan, who has been deaf since childhood.
