1. Hiking miles and miles in the blazing heat.

2. Toting a HUGE amount of weight on my back.

3. Encountering very scary situations.

4. Sharing Jesus with the least of these.

It is no doubt that only one statement in the above list is considered something I crave to do. Can you guess? Here is a hint: JESUS.

Though these other things can be at the bottom of my wish list, it is still something that is required when you bring the gospel to remote areas. It is DEFINITELY something I will not mind doing. I only have ONE issue. I have never had to endure something so demanding. It is amazing to see how God has done small things, and sent situations my way to prepare me for what I will be doing in these countries. He has been preparing me for YEARS now in the most subtle ways possible. God taught me trust and independence when I traveled to Alaska by myself a few years ago. Leaving my family and going 4300 miles away was kind of intimidating, but I also saw that God was teaching me to put complete trust in Him, even in the intimidating times. Many of you that know me know that I am ALWAYS hot. What blows my mind, is that God gave me a job in which I have to endure a warmer environment than I am use to. I have subtly gotten use to the heat.

One of the main things I feel as if God has done in my life is that He gave me a more clear understanding of what He expects of me. Growing up in a tradition Baptist church and social community, there is not much room to be open minded. God has definitely done a work in my life recently to show me that there are many things that we are missing. I began to dig into God’s word harder craving to know what He sees as a thriving church. How God expects us to come together AS the church and what He expects from us. It is so simple. Worship, Praise, and Discipleship.

I cannot thank God enough for what He has taught me over this span of time. I knew that God had a calling on my life. I knew that God wanted me to go, but He had things to work through with me first. That is something you can pray also. Pray that God shows you what He expects from you. Not what the traditional church wants, but what HE wants from you. Allow Him to work through you and teach you these things. Keep me in your prayers as I continue on with this journey. Pray that God continues to teach me, lead me, and guide me. I appreciate the already given prayers, and appreciate the incoming prayers.

In Christ,
