I am going to make sure to say this loud for the people in the back.

A life of being a luke-warm Christ follower is a waste!

I am speaking this from experience: and because it is biblical. Don’t believe me? Check out Revelation 3:15-16.

Let me break this down. God calls us to a life of total surrenderance. No, that does not mean every person is suppose to leave their normal life and travel the world, but it does mean leave your comfort and step out in faith to follow what God wants for your life. I have really been focusing on how God really asked people in the old testament to do some pretty crazy things. Lets take Abraham for example. He was told by God to sacrifice his own son. The big part about this story is that Abraham trusted God so much, that he prepared the alter for the sacrifice. Anyone who knows the story knows that in the end, Abraham did not have to sacrifice his son because God gave him a ram. Through Abrahams trust and faith in God, knowing our God is much bigger than his own love for his son, God blessed Abraham in ways we could never imagine.

I am going to walk you through another story. Lets think about Joshua. He was only a helper for Moses, and after Moses dies, God leaves the Israelites in the hands of Joshua. God tells Joshua that he would make him a leader of the Israelites to take them to the land He promised them. If you read the first 10 chapters of Joshua, you see the crazy stories of how God allowed Joshua and the Israelites to kill MANY kings and their armies. Through Joshua’s willingness to follow God’s commands, God guided him and the Israelites to the land He promised.

Looking a lot like the story of Abraham, God sent His only Son as a sacrifice for us. God sat on His throne in heaven watching His Son being persecuted and tormented. Because He loves us so much, He allowed it to happen, He knew the power He gave His Son. He knew that it would change the course of history for us in giving us the gift of salvation.

As far as my own experience, it is a little more spiritual and emotional as of right now. I wish I could explain the love and joy God has given me for being faithful in following His call, but it is only something to experience, not explain. But I can attest to the drastic change in love, and peace just from willingly putting my life in the hands of God for Him to guide my path. I am now walking in HIS freedom and know that what I THOUGHT was freedom, was not.

In me saying all of that, if you are still reading, you have gotten to the biggest challenge.

Is God calling you to do something crazy? Knowing how God blesses the ones who live radically for Him, are you willing to follow that crazy call? I can promise you that you will not regret the outcome. Maybe God is calling you to leave your job and pour into your community that you are in. I can promise you if He is calling you to that, He will provide your every need (Matthew 6:33). Maybe He is calling you to take a bit of your focus off of the secular activities you put so much attention to and possibly start a bible study in your home. I can promise you that if He is calling you to do that, He will give you the words to teach.

Maybe you are struggling right now and feel like God is no where to be found. Spend some time praying and asking God what it is that is disconnecting you from Him. Be still and quiet and listen to what He has to say. Be willing to change your life to follow Him in a way that is radical!

Do not be afraid to step out and do what God is calling you to do. He is never going to leave you stranded. Again, I promise.

Boldly,
Preston
