Have you ever had the Lord’s Supper outside of the church building?

I did tonight, and it meant more to me than it ever has.

Tonight, my family sat in my living room. My father, mother, brother, Aunt and Uncle, my best friend, his wife, and daughter. We sat and laughed and joked, we also talked about serious spiritual things. When it got a little late, we began to notice that reality is setting in, that I am about to be sent off. My uncle has been really digging into listening to God speak to Him. He has been faithful in doing all that God ask of him, even if it is out of the ordinary. God told Him that tonight, we are to have the Lord’s Supper.

We sat and listened to his heart and what God has spoken to him through this time. He read scripture before us and we took the bread, a symbol of Jesus’ body and ate of it. I pictured Jesus being nailed to the cross.

We took the cup and drank it as a symbol for Jesus’ blood. I pictured Jesus ascending towards Heaven. Afterwards, we sat and we sang praises to Jesus and rejoiced in His presence.

This is such an un-ordinary way to send someone away for 11 months according to society. God specifically told my uncle to bring this forward for a reason. I sat there with tears in my eyes truly understanding the big reason of why I am going on this trip. To make the most of Jesus to the ends of this earth. I am going in boldness to proclaim the love that He gave to me, that is free for anyone who will accept it!

It was a different night in the Robinson household, but it was definitely one to cherish.

In love,

Preston
