A collection of thoughts, memories, and realizations. Written down as to never being forgotten.
- At our first day back in Chiang Mai, we jumped right into a new ministry and we were all so exhausted. Our task? Go into a room and pray over the walls before we painted them. We fell asleep.
- First morning back, we were given breakfast. I wasn’t hungry. I was given a bowl. One of our squad mates ate his own bowl, my teammates bowl and mine. Hah.
- Teammate buys the entire team drinks on the morning of Halloween because she is the greatest of all time.
- Hospitals in Chiang Mai are nicer than hospitals in the states.
- I should’ve invested in a hard drive and a MacBook before leaving America.
- Tracy Jordan 30 Rock highlights can put anyone in a better mood. Same can be said for Tom Hanks as David S. Pumpkins.
- We went to a hedgehog cafe and one of the hedgehogs got stuck in a teammate’s pants.
- I was able to help plan a Halloween Party for our squad this past week and I wasn’t even able to participate in it because I was so sick. To no surprise though, I had people that met me in my mess and handled the part that was my responsibility for me. It took a lot out of me to hand them my theoretical “clipboard” but, I’m so glad I did because they did a better job then I could have ever done. I’m just thankful for community this week and so thankful to be surrounded by people that I love and that love me so well.
- For the past 5 days, I have been sick with, what the doctor calls, infectious diarrhea. Many of my squad mates are convinced that infectious also means contagious, it does not. My squad mates (especially teammates) have loved me so well while I’ve been sick. They always ask me if I need anything, they play with my hair and hug me, and my personal favorite, the classic “text me if you need me… I’m going to sleep but, it’s ok”… these people. Wow. My squad leader, in particular, has given me so much love. She is always asking me how she can serve me or what she can get for me. She has done an excellent job of “Mom-ing” me this week. God bless her.
- Quick s/o to the creator of Aquafore. Thank you for your service.
- January is coming up sooner than I thought possible. That means I have to raise the rest of my money within the next (approx.) 3 months. I only have about $2,000 left to raise and I serve a big God and I am confident that He will provide. If He has called me on The Race then He is clearly in control. However- you too serve the same God and if you would like to partner with me on this journey, please donate. I have always felt so uncomfortable and awkward asking people directly for support but, our ministry host last week said something that has changed my view of it completely. He said, “Never be afraid to preach the gospel. It’s God’s words, not yours. Sure, you can agree with them but, ultimately they are His words and ideals. Same goes for asking for support. You are doing God’s work so, never be ashamed to ask for big miracles or support. People aren’t supporting you, they are supporting what God is doing through you. They are supporting what God is using you for.” So, here I am. I’m asking you to not only support me but, to please support the work that God is doing. Honestly, anything and everything gets me closer to my goal.
- Aligning ourselves with God and His will for our lives is so important. If we choose into Him and what He has for us, how could He not bless us? He will because He is true, good, and just.
