Anyone who’s been following me for the last two years can probably guess what the above picture might mean.
Maybe that wasn’t your guess.
I have been serving Adventures In Missions since July 2010 and this will be extending it until this fall. I could have sworn that I would be done with the World Race, but here I am again. As I pack my bag, I keep being reminded of the lifestyle I am about to take up again. No Chic-Fil-A, airconditioning, car, warm water, and no wardrobe. Okay, so, I don’t really have much of a wardrobe anyway. I also don’t really drive my car that much.
I have basically adopted the lifestyle of live with little and make the little that you have great. When it comes to a lifestyle things won’t really be changing too much for me. What will be changing though is these people. For the next couple of months I will be engaging with these people encouraging them to live life to the ABSOLUTE fullest, personally and communally first with God, second the people around them, then the world around them.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from leading people it is that there is nothing that takes bigger risks, highs, or lows than relationship. No matter financial investment you make, your heart outweighs any amount of gold or other precious metal. No matter athletic achievement, your heart outweighs any world record or fastest lap time. Our hearts are worth more than anything in this world.
Enough about me,
meet J-Squad(pictured above). A group of about 60 men and women who are giving up 11 months of their lives to seek after the heart of God. This path will lead them around the world to encounter dozens of people who will forever change the way they see life as they change others’ lives the along the way. These are some of the bravest men and women I have met.
For my time of serving with Adventures In Missions I need to raise $2,300. That covers food, lodging, and travel. If you can sacrifice anything, maybe a cup of coffee from Starbucks or eating out one night that would be AMAZING!
The next 11 months for this squad will be full of lives being restored, wounds being healed, faces being brightened, and light being shown everywhere they go. I am inviting you to be a part of what these people are doing.
If you would like to give, there is a “Support Me” tab on the left side of this page. Email me if you have questions!
Love love love,
Phillip Henry
