God is a funny, clever, compassionate character!

I had to leave my house this morning to go to the post office to send off a book I had sold online (I still have to go to the post office) and when I stepped outside of my front door, the door locked behind me and I realized my keys were inside. So, I  had to walk around to the back door to get back inside.

As I was walking, I told myself, with peace, that God does everything for a reason and I was pretty at ease with the fact that I had to walk around. I did not think God was about to use me but as I closed my gate on the side of my house I could hear a cat wailing, I first thought it was just a cat getting ready to fight. I looked around for the cats and I saw our cat Blacky, hanging from the fence! He had tried to climb it I guess and one of his claws got caught in a vine that was growing on the fence. He was hanging by ONE claw! I ran over, picked up by the scruff of his neck and pulled his claw out of the vine.

If God wouldn’t have locked me out of my house (which was just funny because I can only imagine God working this plan out and His reaction as the door locks behind me) this plan of helping this cat (which is the clever part) would never have happened and the cat could have been dangling from that claw till either it ripped out or someone else would have come several minutes or hours after! God’s compassion!! Blacky’s still in a little bit of pain but I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be alright. His story is pretty ridiculous. He got washed across our bayou during Hurricane Ivan and hasn’t left the house since! haha If God was watching out for this cat how much more is he watching out for you and me?!

25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
