My contact in Nepal has his hand in several different ministries across the country. Every other Sunday they have the only free Bible distribution in the country. He runs a computer and Bible college for students and pastors. He establishes churches in villages in the mountains and also is building a school and an orphanage.

I was incredibly blessed to be able to be a blessing to Ruben and his family/friends last month. He is a man of God who is doing the LORD’s work in a country that is desperately thirsty for hope and life.

On one of the last nights in Kathmandu, our teams were able to pray for the pastors and over the Bible college and for the country with all of our new friends. That night was powerful. We were blessed with prayers from them as well.

Ruben shared with us how the country is shifting and that Christians are dying. They are being martyred by radical Hindus. The capital city of Kathmandu has been the site of several murders of pastors and church bombings. That is when everything “got real” for me.

I was serving the persecuted church. Nepal may be one of the fastest growing Christian nations, but it is still a mere 2% Christian. Now the government is beginning to talk about establishing laws that make it illegal to meet openly for Christians and for people to convert. There is no other reason for the country to be doing this other than the fact the Jesus is changing things up! Praise GOD!!

Ruben was weeping and the other pastors and students prayed protection over him that night. He said that if the enemy is victorious in his attacks, many ministries will fall away simply because of Ruben’s influence over the nation. We prayed strength for our brother and encouraged him in his faith. Declaring victory, praying from a place of victory, and asking for God to give him peace in the midst of persecution.

The Nepalese church is a persecuted church. There was a shift in my heart and in my prayers after that night. Everything got more serious. I have prayed for the persecuted church before, but it is a whole different ballgame when you are praying for your persecuted brothers and sisters while laying hands on them, in the place they are being persecuted.

So this blog is about my contact and the severity of everything that is happening in Nepal right now. God is moving and since He is changing so many lives in the country, bad stuff is happening as well. The enemy is not happy because he is being pushed out and the kingdom is falling on top of his face. Please think about praying for Ruben and for all pastors and Christians in Nepal. There is a battle happening and they need your help. Pray protection, boldness, for them to be unashamed and steadfast, for faith.
