Merry Christmas!… In August it was.

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas. Just like the ones I used to know.

We celebrated Christmas in August. Why? Because Mike Clevenger and Steph Bauer wanted to deck the halls.

In the morning into the early afternoon we taught the students at the Bible College about computers. I taught them about photo booth on the Mac. We edited a couple of those pics. Then I finished signing some of the students up for Skype. Our ministry in Nepal varied, but during the last couple of weeks we taught students from Ruben’s Bible College different things on the computers. How to use Google search, how to send and reply to emails, how to take awesome pics on photo booth (even though they really will prob never have Mac), and how to type in English. The students were all different ages and it was a fun time teaching them things that are so simple to us.

After our last day of class, Christmastime began!!

We made snowflakes, the boys took showers, we made signs, we cleaned, and Jason made ‘wassail’ (tasty apple cider with orange/cinnamon/cloves).

The house smelled like Santa’s village, nay- like Santa’s bosom!

Each person also had a secret santa, but the rule was that no purchases could be made, you had to give your person something from your pack. I had my team mate Jessie, and I gave her a Kinder Joy wrapped in an adult diaper. Poor Mike received some ‘lady products’ from Emily. Coach Vessels (TV) gave me some batteries and a hand powered flashlight.

Christmas music was playing throughout the night and everyone was singing, it really was as awesome as you are imagining. We had tasty snacks in the kitchen, including lots of popcorn, courtesy of Steph.

Everyone dressed up and the celebration began when Ruben and his family arrived. We all took pics, ate toooooo much food and laughed out loud to Elf at night on a projector screen in the living room. One of our contacts, Pradip, really enjoyed Elf. He laughed more than I thought for someone who was watching the movie in a second language.

And that was the night of Christmas in August 29th on F Squad. We celebrated Jesus’ birth in style in Nepal!

This blog was much better with pics, but it takes a day and a half at the LEAST to put 1 picture in.
