So we leave the church and the place where Angelique, Beka, Jason and I discover delicious hamburgers with the patty wrapped in an egg topped with soy sauce, black pepper sauce, sriracha and mayo. I video taped it too.

Like I mentioned 2 blogs ago, Angelique had to fight to keep our team together. Our contacts, a married couple with two adorable little boys, wanted half of us in the jungle and half in the city.

The morning after our amazing church experience where we got to sit and listen with a church to a man so incredibly passionate about the Word of God and the exaltation of His Name, we head off to Port Klang.

We meet up with our other contact, a pastor (Pastor 1) in the area who is so sweet and also an ex-soldier for the United Nations, he is legit basically. We get to the church where we will be staying for a week. The girls get freezing cold a/c rooms and Jason and I get a fan. This upstairs church area where we slept is where Jason and I slaughtered many-many cockroaches with a bottle of bug poison. They were pouring out of the door frames like water, it was crazy.

Anyway, our new ministry for the week was to help this missions organization move out. We would pack boxes with the other pastor (Pastor 2) in charge of the mission and help them to move to their new location in the city. We didn’t actually start packing until the last couple days.

Our week got insanely busy. We began the next morning by joining Pastor 1 at a Port Klang Pastor’s prayer meeting fellowship. Our whole team got to sit in a room and sing worship songs with 8 incredible mighty men of God. We shared our names and talked about the Race. We prayed for Malaysia. These men can pray! Such powerful and passionate words were poured out before the LORD, I was so moved.

After the fellowship, 4 of the pastors immediately start asking us to come with them to their churches to share and encourage their congregations. We laugh and constantly tell them to get in touch with our “agent,” Pastor 1. We eat tasty Indian food at a restaurant next door and laugh and talk with the pastors. I learn more about how Islam is obliterating the society in Malaysia and we learn that one of the pastors is a Native Malay.

He tells us that his tribe, a relatively small tribe of only 60,000 people, are headhunters. Yes, they kill and take your head. His tribe would offer a head as a dowry! The pastor talked about how Christian missionaries came to his tribe and I believe they were killed, if I remember correctly. Either his grandfather or his great grandfather was a witchdoctor also. So missionaries came a long time ago, 2 generations, and were killed. But then the entire tribe became Christian! Now his tribe is the largest Christian Native Malay people in Malaysia.

He tells us that he still headhunts. This time, he hunts for the souls of men and women for the gospel. Jesus didn’t destroy or dilute his tribe’s customs and traditions, He just redeemed them and made them new. Now his mission is to win as many heads for Jesus as he can!

And this was all before lunch was over!
