Shout Camp 2010!!!!!!!!

Yes I found God in Taiwan!!!

God was in every:

Smile.
Laugh.
Cry.
Hug.
Conversation.
Response.
Game.
Activity.
Song.
Dance.
Drama.
Picture.
Language.
Hello.
Goodbye.
Sunrise.
Sunset.

GOD was everywhere I looked.

When I first learned about an opportunity to minister in Fulong, Taiwan, I remember how excited I was. I was so happy to know that God would use me to minister in another Country. Shout Camp 2010 absolutely changed my life forever. The Holy Spirit was re-awakened in my life because of the love I felt from the kids. God has never been so alive in my life as much as he is now. I am so thankful I was able to experience true love, and meet such beautiful people in Taiwan.

I was one of the leaders of the (you guessed it) Orange Team. I was accompanied by Kelsey Bassin, and Emily Roberts in leadership.

Orange Team Shout Camp 2010:

My team was amazing!!!!

As a whole, all of the kids at camp were amazing!!!! I have never experienced respect and love like I did in Taiwan. I can honestly say that we had no problems at all with any of the kids.

During the seven days of Shout Camp we had tons of amazing activities for the kids to participate in.

Such as:

-Water Balloon volleyball
-Paint-ball
-Obstacle courses
-Kayaking
-Singing
-Dancing
-Drama
-Painting
-and so much more…

It was so awesome to see all of the kids having a great time interacting with one another, and simply enjoying life.

My favorite time spent with the kids was during worship! Imagine being surrounded by almost one-hundred kids and only seven or eight of them Christians. In Taiwan one of the most common religions is Buddhism. Most of these kids had never heard of Jesus Christ, and had certainly never experienced what we would call a church service. I almost cry when I think about how amazing God is! Our only communication was love, it was the only way we could show them Jesus. It was the only way we could let them know that God is Love, and His love is very different from human love. God’s love is unconditional, and it’s not based on feelings or emotions. He doesn’t love us because we’re lovable or because we make Him feel good; He loves us because He is love. He created us to have a loving relationship with Him, and He sacrificed His own Son (who also willingly died for us) to restore that relationship.

Towards the end of the camp we had about six kids come up and accept God into their hearts during an evening service!!! It was so beautiful. My heart was truly touched by God that night. Although not all of the kids accepted Jesus into their lives, almost every kid said they could honestly feel the love of God in their hearts. No matter if they did or did not my love for them would never change. I love every-single one of those kids! Of course I will always strive for them to follow Jesus. I am so excited to see what God does in their lives post-camp!! I have already had reports from some of the kids that God is moving not only in their hearts, but also in the hearts of their families… Praise God!!!

I believe it was the third night of camp there was a girl who had injured her shoulder during one of the games; so we had prayer for her. A group of leaders gathered around her and prayed for healing in her shoulder. . . What happened next I will let her tell you!!!

God planted a seed in the hearts of those kids during that week long camp. They experienced true love, the love of a father! They were able to pray to a true God and experience true blessings. To think that God would use the least of these, that he would use me to show his love, it wrecks my heart. I am so thankful for the love of my father, my papa, my daddy, my God.

God is alive in Taiwan and he is doing a mighty work in the lives of those who live there. Shout Camp allowed me to experience this amazing work that God is doing.

With that said I want to give a special thanks to Pastor Roberts and his beautiful family for allowing Christ Temple Church to bring a group over and help with the camp. It was an honor to serve next to him and to be a part of what God is doing through his ministry in Taiwan.
