I looked at Colin as I grabbed my belongings after they came through security. We shared a look of confusion and humor mixed with shock and horror. Colin grabbed his things as well and we quickly glided away from the scene of the crime. Once we were well out of earshot we shared about our interesting encounters with a very friendly Indian security guard.

You see, while we were traveling from India to Nepal we had a layover in the city of Delhi. It was not a very long layover and our flight had already arrived late; thus, we had to move swiftly in order to make it to the next airplane on time. However, we also had to change terminals in order to go on an international flight. As such, we also had to go through a security check again.

This is where things got interesting. While waiting in line at the security check, my friend Colin and I were there together. We were laughing and talking just like normal as if nothing was about to happen to us. We were very much wrong about that assumption.

As we approached the security checkpoint I went to be checked first. At first, it all went down like usual. I put my items on the belt for the security scanner and I stepped in front of the metal detector. The very unassuming and appearingly normal security guard proceeded to wave me through and, like normal, I complied. Little did I know that the man would change my opinion about Indian airports forever.

At first it was all okay. The security guard waved his wand over me like normal exposing any metal attached to my body. Quickly following his wand procedure he began to feel around my body. Again this was completely normal until his hands began to go to places otherwise unneeded.

The man also became very…grabby we could say. It was not too out of the ordinary but just enough that it made me quite uncomfortable. To top it all off this “friendly” security guard left me with deep words that still echo in my ears today. He said to me in a confidant and soft spoken manner, “I see you with my eyes…and I love you with my heart.”

I was so stunned by this encounter that I scurried off as quickly as possible, grabbed my belongings, watched as Colin had a similar encounter, to my shock, and got out of that area as fast as possible.

I share this story with you for one reason, and that reason is that it was absolutely hysterical! It was possibly the best airport story of my life. Though I would never ask for such an occurrence to ever take place in my life, I found it so funny that Colin and I could not stop laughing about it as we walked away. I was, in fact, groped by an Indian man.
