In approximately FIVE months I will be walking down this exact (exact because American Airlines gates are E14-E15-E16 and they are the only way to fly 🙂 ) concourse to board a plane to wherever our World Race launch site is. I know it’s going to be a long walk to the gate; if not THE longest walk I’m ever going to take. I’m probably going to be teary-eyed after a long goodbye to friends and family. I’m probably going to nervous and sick to my stomach. I feel bad for the poor suckers who end up sitting next to me. They are going to witness a train wreck. It’s hard to imagine that my life (a.k.a. my backpack) for the next 11 months is going to be stored in the belly of a Boeing 757.
But on the other hand…WOW…this is going to be an adventure of a lifetime!! I cannot even begin to tell you how many people have responded to my World Race by saying “I wish I did something like that when I was your age!” God bless those people for being so excited for me. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m so thankful God has asked me to do this for Him. Well technically He didn’t really ask…..more like it’s already in His will for me. I am just obeying; although it did come with some resistance and struggle. This trip is going to help ME to become a better man of God along with helping hundreds of others along the way.
I’m only 22 (soon to be 23 come May 9th) and I can still be molded into basically anything I want to be. Right now I’m currently pursuing a Bachelors of Business Management and Marketing. I will have to put that on hold until I get back. Who knows-maybe God will change His mind on what field I should be in. I think He has already planted something in my heart on what I should pursue once I return. “American 1750 cleared to land runway three seven left, wind at one seven at eight knots, contact ground, g’day” Figure out what it is?
But until then I want to molded into a MAN OF GOD. I want to step up and become a leader and preach the good news all around the world. I’ve said this a million times but I cannot wait to see what God has in store myself and my October teammates! I’ve had the pleasure of talking to most of my teammates via Facebook and I know we are going to ROCK THE WORLD RACE!

God sent me a little reminder today. I borrowed (since my car is home in MN!) my cousin Sarah’s car today and sticking to the rear view mirror was this fortune. I had no idea it was there until I saw it today. I drove her car yesterday and I swear I did not see it. And it’s not like I didn’t notice it because obviously I have to look at the rear view mirror at somepoint. You guys…I have never felt anything SO REAL before! This is amazing! And just think….i’m not even out in the mission field yet! If He has done so many cool things when I’m at home, I can’t even imagine the things He will be doing once my eleven months start! God is sooooo gooooooood!! 🙂
I’m currently down in Texas for the week visiting mi familia and celebrating my Aunt Lynn’s engagement and Aunt Nickies graduation with her Masters degree. I’ll also be celebrating my birthday down here too! I’m so excited to be sharing it with my family. God knows how or better yet WHERE I will be celebrating my birthday next May. Texas is still flat, but it’s still beautiful!
Our hotel room faces the east so I get a BEAUTIFUL Texas Sunrise. I looked out this morning and said- Thank you God for blessing me with a beautiful Texas Plains sunrise and of course the enemy had to put a Wal-Mart on the horizon too! Haha… I’ll try and take a good picture to post for the next blog or maybe I’ll just post it on my Facebook.
Thanks for reading!
Blessings,
