So many Christmas parties. So many little kids.

So many lives SAVED.

Oh Christmas parties. I remember back in the day where my idea of a Christmas party was lots of food and drinks. We used to dress up in our finest and share stories around the fireplace.

But not in Costa Rica….

We party with 150+ little ninos and their familias!

The parties we throw are absolutely awesome! My team came up with a drama/skit to perform. It’s titled “The BEST Gift Ever!” We do it all in spanish as well. It’s about two boys named Tito (Dex) and Estevan (Me). Estevan is super excited to exchange gifts with Tito, but when they go to exchange gifts, Tito forgot to get him a gift. Tito then goes off and looks for a gift and discovers a girl from our team playing the guitar. He asks the girl if she knew of the BEST gift ever and she suggests the gift of MUSIC. That’s when we all come out and sing Jingle Bells and Away in a Manger in Spanish. After we sing, Tito decides that it’s not the best gift for his friend. He continues on his search and sees a girl playing games. He stops her and asks her if she had ideas for the BEST gift ever. She suggests the gift of GAMES. We then play the 12 Days of Christmas game with different actions for each day. After we get done playing, Tito decides that games isn’t the best gift ever. He continues to search and finally is about to give up when Jesus comes in and asks him what was wrong. Jesus then asks Tito to follow him and then we go into the second part of the play……

The main point we are trying to get across is that Jesus is the light. We give Jesus a candle to represent His light. We then set up situations the light of Jesus is the only thing to make things better. For instance, we have Mary crying and sobbing and Tito tries to help her out. When Tito can’t console her, he calls upon Jesus to help. Jesus comes in and restores her and then Jesus gives her His candle. Then we switch to another person who is sad because her parents are arguing. So the first person that received the light of Jesus comes in to console the person who is sad because her parents are fighting. She tries to console the sad person, but then again calls upon Jesus to step in. Once Jesus finishes consoling her, Mary (from the first scene) passes the light of Jesus to Keryn (from the second scene) who then goes on to continue passing the light of Jesus to two other people in two other scenes. Tito is witnessing all of this and realizes that the BEST gift ever is the gift of Jesus Christ. Once all of the scenarios are over, the people involved in the scenes all take a bow before Jesus and then Tito comes over to find Estevan and take him to Jesus so they can both bow before Jesus. That truly is the BEST GIFT EVER.

Afterwards our ministry contact Rosa comes up and all the kids say the sinners prayer and accept Jesus into their hearts! There have been from 80-200 kids at each of these parties. The first day we had about 500 kids. It all comes out to about 1,500 kids total. Our contacts have been collecting donated gifts throughout the year for the kids, so after everything is done they hand out Christmas gifts to the families. It’s so cool to see the excitement in their faces when they receive a gift from God.

Being able to see hundreds of kids accept Jesus Christ in their hearts is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. It’s great to see all the kids praying in unison calling out to the Lord to enter their heart.

This is what I came on the World Race to experience.

*Support Update*

Whoa! God is continuing to move in His mighty ways! Just a little over two weeks ago I was under $5,500. Now as of 12/24/2010 I’m right at $7,000!!!! I have $3,000 more to go before I fully meet my fundraising obligation. Praise the Lord for all He has done! He is SO incredibly FAITHFUL and He just loves to awe me in such amazing ways!

I’m still in the process of looking for donors to help me meet my December 31st, 2010 goal of $10,000. If not met, I could be in danger of not being able to fully complete the call God has called me on. So if you feel the Lord is specifically calling you to help support HIS ministry, please click the support me button on the upper left task bar on my blog.
