One of my favorite NFL players is Randy Moss. Ever since his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings I have just been amazed at his talent and ability to play the field. I have followed him throughout his career and seen many ups and downs. Now you’re probably wondering how in the heck I would relate Randy Moss in one of my World Race blogs, but trust me, it’ll make sense in the end!

Team 1

Randy Moss: Minnesota Vikings

Randy Moss had a great career with the MN Vikings. He became a breakout star his rookie season and continued to be a great player years after. He had a great supporting cast that helped him become a greater player. Of course how could we ever forget when he “shot the moon” to Packer fans and said his most famous words, “straight up cash, homie.” But due to whatever circumstances he was traded to the Oakland Raiders.

Team 1

Phil Khamoua: Team Arrow

Ah yes, MY first team. Same same, but different to Randy Moss on his first team. I grew SO much on this team. I was with them for the first three months of the World Race. I learned a lot about myself and what God called me on this race for. I flourished. I shined. I loved it. I was challenged by them in many ways, but I also loved them in many ways. They were a GREAT supporting cast that helped me grow closer to Lord and see His Greatness everyday.

Team 2
Randy Moss: Oakland Raiders
A surprising trade occurred between the Vikings and the Raiders that left people scratching their

heads. During his time with the Raiders, Moss had a tough time being on the team. He didn’t have a

very good quarterback to throw to him and the coach was barely hanging in there. They still won

games, but it was a struggle every game. Something had to be done otherwise his career was over.

Team 2

Phil Khamoua: Team Refresh

Also a surprising change, I really didn’t see this one coming. I was scared, nervous,

and a little upset about the change. I was going into a team that was already

established and I didn’t know what I was getting into. The people on the team were

great people, but at times we just didn’t click very well. There were many times that I

felt lonely and stranded. We still had great times together, but the hard times easily

outweighed the good times. Everyone on the team had their own special talents that

God blessed them with and oh my gosh they were amazing workers of God. They

were amazing prayer warriors and showed Christ’s love everywhere they went. Even

though I was surrounded by this great team, something just wasn’t right. Something

had to be done otherwise my World Race was over.

Team 3
Randy Moss: New England Patriots

A new life and a new team. Throughout his time with New England, Moss reinvented

himself. He had yet again another great supporting cast and a great leader in Tom

Brady. He changed his selfish ways and learned what the game was all about. Even

late in his career he became one of the top players in the NFL. He rose again to

greatness and finally made an appearance in the Super Bowl.

Team 3

Phil Khamoua: Team G.T.L. (God.Truth.Laughter)

I really can’t write much about this team because we’ve only been together for like 5

days. Dex Meeks rose up to become a team leader and now we are back together

again. I knew from the first day I met him that he would be a great leader. I am honored
and pleasured to be under his leadership. I am also honored and pleasured to be

teamed up with four beautiful and amazing women of God. Since I already know Dex

pretty well, I am looking forward to getting to know the women on the team. I know

some of them from past months of ministry when teams worked together, but now we

can all really just focus on each other. I can already just feel the “natural love” that I

have been craving for since my first team. I know we will have lots of fun together as

well as many opportunities to challenge and learn from each other. I feel that this team

is going to bring a season of JOY and that we are going to take that JOY on to

Africa and India.

So without further adeu, here is my amazing new team!

Becca Fujimoto, Colorado
Becca has one of the KINDEST hearts that I have ever encountered. Her LOVE for the Lord shines throughout the day and it’s impossible not to just feel the radiation of Christ coming from her heart. She is quite talented with the guitar and has a very soothing voice. I can’t wait for team worship sessions! She hails from Monument, CO and is a student studying nursing. She plans to finish the nursing program when she gets back. Yesss…..I can be wreckless again knowing that I have a nurse on the team that will take care of me! yayyyy! Okay…just kidding!

Jobie (Brandi Jo Magee), West Texas

Jobie, Jobie, Jobie. Her full name is Brandi Jo, but has devloped a nickname amongst her peers as “Jobie.” She is a kind soul that has an incredible passion for the Lord. I love hearing her testimony as it displays an amazing amount of faith that she has had to apply to her life. She is also a talented musician and plays the violin. Listening to her play violin is extremely soothing for my soul. She is in a band back at home called “The Penny Jar.” Jobie is also a member of the S-Squad logistics team and she works SUPER hard on making sure the squad gets where we need to be! She is from Abilene, TX and has grown up in West Texas all of her life. Woo-hoo for another West Texas connection!

Keryn Senn, South Carolina

Keryn is just so cool. She is a wonderful artist and loves to doodle and draw. She is an AMAZING photographer, so hopefully I’ll have some really cool pictures of all of us together! She has a very sweet and genuine heart for ministry and connects well with all that she works with. Her love for God never ceases as she continues to bring light into dark places. Her experience at Young Life camps have been very helpful out on the field and I am so glad to be able to share the next four months with her! We enjoy laughing with eachother and making wonderful awkward moments. It’s something that we just do. Ha.

Sarah Anderson, Wisconsin

Sarah is from Wisconsin. That’s all I’m going to say. Just kidding. It’s great to have a neighbor to the East alongside with me on the mission field. We have already made plans to have a reunion at Wisconsin Dells! Sarah is bold, bright, and very very encouraging. Her faith has brought her to great places and the Lord has built her up to be an amazing Woman of God that LOVES people unconditionally. Sarah is hilarious and courageous and is not afraid to speak her mind. Her heart is filled with Christ’s love and her words of encouragement are truly an asset out on the mission field.

Dex Meeks, Georgia

D. Meeks. My brother, my encourager, my leader. It’s a joy to be back together on the same team. At first we were just teammates, but now D. has been called up for a season of leadership. I am very excited to be part of his new season in a leadership role. His wisdom and thoughtfulness is going to great for the team. He has done a great job so far of getting everyone involved in decisions and making sure everyone’s voice is heard. D. has grown quite a bit since we worked together last and I am excited for us to share growth together again on a team. We both know our top priorities are to 1. Love God and 2. Protect and LOVE the women on our team.

Phil Khamoua, Minnesota

Well, you already know me. I just wanted my picture to be included this is wonderful line-up of mug shots!

So there you have it! These are the 5 people that for the rest of the 4 months on The World Race that will love and challenge me. They will bring JOY to my life and also bring hard times to my life. They will see at me at my worst and my best and I will also see their sides as well. They will love me unconditionally and I will do the same to them. We will share God’s Word with the lost and share uncontrollable laughter with eachother.

Please continue to pray for us!
