S-Squad debrief.
Debrief is a time for the entire squad to get together and worship. We had four days of catching up with each other and sharing ministry stories. I’ll write another blog on that, but for now I want to write about this….
I decided to have a serious one-on-one with God today. I seperated from my team and went to a little fusion indoor/outdoor cafe. Since we are in Granada, Nicaragua, one of the more popular things to do here is smoke local cigars. In Nicaragua, cigars are seen as a way of relaxing and reflecting. Given the location, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend time with Lord. I decided I would just write whatever I felt God laying on my heart. It’s really random, but it’s alllllll good!
I opened up in prayer asking for the Lord to speak words to my heart. I wasn’t going to talk for a while, and I was just going to listen for His voice. I told Him that I would accept any words that came my way and use them as guidance for what He wanted me to hear.
……and then God said…
“The most important thing for you to do is to protect the women of your team and the women of S-Squad”
“Love them-Support them-Care for them. There have been many women on your squad, and even your team, which have been hurt. I have seen how you have treated women in the past and seen how much LOVE you have shown them. You have asked Me many times why I have chosen you to go on the World Race-here is one of them. Your sisters need you”
“You will fail because you are a sinner”
“When I put something on your heart- LISTEN!”
“You are the project”
“Molded”
I broke silence once and asked….Who do you want me to be?
…and God said…
“ONLY I KNOW”
“Live your life and be obedient. For I know the plans I have for you”
“I have designed your heart to be strong-to persevere through struggles. I have built your heart for you.
“Your heart will break for what breaks Mine”
“I am proud of you for making time for us”
“Do NOT compare other people’s relationship with Me to the relationship I have with you”
“Our relationship is one of a kind”
“Trust in Me with all you do”
“Mac was right when he said you don’t deserve to be in the presence of Me. But because of My grace and My only Son Jesus, you are able to bask in My presence”
“Dig deeper into Me. You are off to a good start”
“Someone is going to read this and come to Me”
“Your image is perfect for Me. I created you to be a masterpiece.”
“Love outside the box”
“You are loved”
“Pass My love for you onto others. Share My love with them so they can become closer to ME”
“I have surrounded you with strong Christians. NOW GROW!”
Amen.
I just wish I could show you my journal pages from that experience. I have little doodles and words that were boxed and bolded. Some of those things I still need to process myself, but when I will have clarification-only God knows.
One of my goals for the month that I have been praying about is to dig deeper with God. I am going to make a point to have some along time with Him and hear what He wants me to hear. It’s going to be a challenge, and I know the enemy is waiting to bring lots of distractions. During our nightly squad worship time I prayed to God to tell Him how much I enjoy spending time with Him during worship. I remember hearing Him say, “That’s great you are spending time with Me. But let’s see how you do when you don’t have your entire squad around you and there isn’t a mandatory worship time.”
I have been challenged. Please pray for me.
Please also pray for more support to come in. It’s getting that time of the race when deadlines need to be met. I have some obligations that need to be fulfilled in order to successfully participate in ministry for the next nine months. Our next deadline is December, 31st 2010. I need to have support blessings in the amount of at least $10,000 in order fulfill my obligations. Currently I am roughly at $5,3xx. I know that sounds like a large amount to raise in such a little time, but nothing is too large for our God! I plan to shower this month in prayer over my support account. Not only have many lives been touched by the support that has already been given, but MY life has also changed drastically. I’m growing in Christ in ways I could’ve never imagined.
