Hey ya’ll!
Alright, so I’ve come down to the final week before my super sweet World Race Fundraiser. I’m getting more and more excited as the event nears. I’ve had SO many great supporters that have contributed either financially or through items for my silent auction. When I first started planning this I was really discouraged on whether or not I would get any cool things to put for silent auction. But through careful prayer and faith in God, He has provided me with many great contributions! Here is just an example of all the great things that are up for auction!
Harmon Killebrew autographed baseball. (Donated by my roommate Joe Leach)
NASCAR Die cast cars and NASCAR Apparel. (Donated by Scott and Cindy Lilienthal of Al’s Auto Sales)
House cleaning. (Donated by Jenny Herz of HARTshine Design)
Gift Certificate to Mary Kay’s Massage to Heaven. (Donated by Mary Kay Jaskowiak)
Set of MN Twins Coasters. (Donated by Lonnie Kelly of PHH Home Loans)
Harry and David Chocolate Fondue Set
Moscato Wine Basket
Charcoal Grill Set w/ bag of charcoal, utensils, digital thermometer, etc.
And a few more things are in the works, so I’ll keep you updated as they come in!
I’ve also had the honor to meet another one of my October 2010 World Race members Addie Weaver (http://addieweaver.theworldrace.org) . She lives in Minneapolis and we thought it’d be fitting to arrange a meeting to discuss this crazy thing called The World Race. She’s going to a great asset to the team and will definitely provide hours of laughter.
Since meeting Addie, I’ve decided that it would be great to include her into my fundraising event as well since we are both in the same boat of raising support funds. Addie will be contributing a few things to the event as well as some raffle and silent auction items. We’ve carefully managed a way to make sure the correct funds go to which racer and so forth.
Again, as a reminder the event will take place Friday, June 18th in Shakopee. It will be held at Turtle’s 1890’s Social Centre and will feature DJ Craig as entertainment. There will be a cakewalk, bake sale, and Addie has created some magnets to sell to help her with her support. $5 donation at the door and EVERYONE is welcome! The event says 7:00pm but I will be there about 6:00pm so feel free to come when convenient. I will probably say a few words at about 8:00pm or so once everyone gets settled in. I’ll show some videos from current racers to give you an idea of what we will be doing out in the mission field.
I can’t wait to see all of you there!
Grace and Blessings,
PK
