Right now, my team and I are wandering through the little house we inhabit near Lipova, Romania while we serve at The Seventh Spring Christian Camp in Sistarovat. It has been an interesting night – we prayed together and decalred that the house and the camp we are at are full of the light of Christ and that the schemes of the enemy have no place here.

The last couple nights, we have been experiencing some intense spiritual warfare in the night, being tormented in our dreams, and this is only an indication of the spiritual darkness that we all feel, that we all felt as soon as we touched down in Bucharest.

But we declare that this house and this camp are a holy place, a consecrated place only for the power of Jesus Christ, and that no afflicting spirit is welcome here.

Guys, Romania is a dark place that needs the love and light of Jesus Christ. We are serving here not in a terribly spiritual capacity – we are sanding and restaining a cabin on the grounds, doing maintenance, and hanging out with the caretaker of the grounds who does not often have people his age to spend time with.

But we know that we are doing kingdom work here in Romania, and that the light we are bringing causes the darkness in this country to tremble. The fire we will light by fellowshipping, by submitting to each other out of reverence for Jesus Christ, will create a beacon that will draw people to it to bathe them in the warmth of the light of Jesus Christ, but that it will also burn any dark thing that tries to approach it.

The enemy tries to get us to speak with a quiet voice and place our light under a bowl so that we cannot be seen or heard. But when he cannot trick us into doing these things ourselves, through complacency or busyness, he must take a more direct approach and attempt to silence us himself. We will not stand for it, and we claim the country of Romania and The Seventh Spring Camp for the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Join me in praying – declare that there is no evil thing that can overtake the love and light of Jesus Christ, and that this light dwells like a consuming fire in the country of Romania.
