We see two instances of this imagery happening in the bible. First in Genesis when God spoke light into a dark lifeless void, and He saw that it was good. A second instance of this happening was when He himself came upon this broken world. The darkness retreated in fear and new life was birth from His presence.
I like to believe that in this instance of us landing in the Philippines, and subsequently the race, that God is now using us to be His light, to invade the darkness and bring life to the places we go to. Something that I came across often during my support raising campaign was the stigma of short term missions trip. Some would say it’s more for the person who’s going that’s going to change rather than them bringing a change. The truth is that there is no such thing as “short term.” We are establishing something eternal regardless of how long we stay. Please pray for these things to happen. Pray that we will be able to establish fruitful relationships.
Heading to my ministry site tomorrow in beautiful Puerto Galera! I’ll try to get more things establish there, like uploading photos on my Picasa and getting my food blog started.
