Back on the road again for an adventure after slightly less
than 2 months back from the Race. I am heading out today with the Dream Tour for
5-6 weeks. (For more information about the Dream Tour check it out here).

The story of how I came to be on this tour is pretty
interesting. This past week I was at Project: Searchlight, which was extremely helpful in
helping us find our kingdom dream and propelling us forward. I knew that my
kingdom dream is to awaken/raise up the youth especially in the 10/40 window to
their true identity in Christ and then they in turn, empowering others. But I
knew that at this current moment I needed 3 very important elements: community,
mentorship, and being empowered. I was also very curious about healing. I wasn’t
sure where I could get all these and so I scheduled a meeting on Monday with
Seth Barnes who had graciously offered up his precious time to meet with
us. During the meeting, the suggestion of Iris Harvest School in Mozambique
came up but I knew that I needed to schedule another meeting with him again to
seek out more help the next day.
I went home and looked up Iris Harvest School and it seemed
very interesting but the problem was that it doesn’t start till June 1. So what
am I suppose to do for the next 6 months? I’m ready to go RIGHT NOW. All day
next day I kept asking God to show me and I couldn’t wait for 4:15pm to come by
when my next meeting with Seth Barnes will be.
At around 3pm, this girl that I didn’t know
came up to me and dropped a bomb in my lap. She said that Seth Barnes wanted to
challenge me to go on the Dream Tour. My first reaction was “WHAT?” She then
went on to explain what the Dream Tour was and that it was starting this
Saturday. “Saturday?” the voice in my head said, “but I don’t have comfortable
shoes!” (Honestly I can’t believe that was the first thought that came into my
head). I then asked her if she was going home after Searchlight which ends on
Thursday and then coming back again to leave on Saturday. She said “No”, but she’s
staying here until Saturday to depart for the Tour. “Oh no, that means that I
can’t go home and pack for this trip,” the voice in my head said. So,
literally, whatever I brought, I will be bringing, no chance to ‘prepare’ for
it. I told her that I’ll go pray about it and get back to her.
Still in a shock from the challenge, I took a walk to seek
after God’s will. I was still struggling with ‘not having comfortable shoes’
(stupid, right?) when God smacked me in the head and said, “Hey! When I tell
you to go, you go. You don’t go home and bury your mother and father first and
then go.” Ouch. But I still struggled to obey. I continued walking. Suddenly
God stopped me in my footsteps, I turned my head, and saw about 30 white birds
suddenly flew up from the ground onto a tree. My ‘God wink’ is flying birds and
at that very moment I knew I am supposed to go and I submitted. As I thought
about it, this Tour would be the perfect place to have all 4 of the things that
I had ask God for: community, mentorship, being empowered, and healing. I will
be with 4 other people 24/7; Teri will be leading this trip; she will be
helping us along on our kingdom dreams; and we will have many opportunities to
step out and be radical for Christ (healing, speaking, whatever).
I learned later that apparently God had told Teri to leave
the door open and to not take out the last row of seats of the van we will be
travelling in. Usually she would remove that row to have room for camping
equipment and luggage. But God said leave the seats there because there will be
one more person. She didn’t know when this person was going to come, maybe will
be picked up along the way and travel together for 2 weeks, maybe…… So when
Seth Barnes brought me to her saying “I think she’s supposed to go on the Dream
Tour”, it was just a confirmation of everything.
So here I am, heading off to another exciting adventure. We
will be travelling by road mainly in Florida and Texas and wherever else God
leads us to. The purpose of this trip is to seek out Dreamers, to awaken the
sleeping giants in this country, to encourage and spur Dreamers on. We start
out with a full tank of gas and $200 and that’s it! We ask, listen and see
where God leads us to. It’s an open agenda. People could invite us to speak at
churches or small groups, we could be praying for someone in a restaurant, or
just hanging out at someone’s house. Who knows. God’s the Director and the
Provider. The principle behind this trip is Luke 10, where the Lord sends out
the 72 disciples, telling them not to take any money with them, nor a
traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. When we enter a home, we bring
peace and blessings. When we enter a town, announce that “The Kingdom of God is
near you now!” We will be good Samaritans and love on people, and we will spend
a good portion of our day just sitting at the Lord’s feet like Mary.
I fully expect God
to show up and wreck us out of whatever little box we’ve put Him in. Since
committing to go on this tour, my prayers have become more and more
‘dangerous’. I’m asking God for big waves, things that will scare us out of our
wits, situations where we it’s either ‘die’ or cling to the Lord. Shoot! If you
want to live for the Lord, then live radically! Don’t live like a quiet little
Sunday Christian! Seriously!
Keep us in your prayers!

Luke 10: 17-23
When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully
reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”
“Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like
lightning! Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy,
and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure
you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names
are registered in heaven.”
At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the
Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for
hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for
revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.
“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly
knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the
Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and
said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen. I tell you, many
prophets and kings longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they
longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.”
P.S. I am especially excited that 6 year-old Lily (Teri’s
daughter) will be travelling with us for the first half of the leg. Man, the
things we can learn from this little girl, for Jesus said to the Father, “thank
you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and
for REVEALING THEM TO THE CHILDLIKE”.
