“… and trust
your lives to the God who created you, for He will never fail you.” – 1 Peter
4:19b

“Trust in
the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He
will make your paths straight.” –
Proverbs 3:5-6

 “In
you, LORD my God, I put my trust.”
– Psalm 25:1

Have you noticed
how trust isn’t so easy? Yes, trusting in the things you choose to trust is not
too hard, but a complete trust,
that’s what I’m talking about.

We say we trust
God, but do we really? 100%? We want to kick into gear of ‘self-reliance’ or
‘logical reasoning’ or ‘common sense’ when God doesn’t ‘reply’ when we want Him
to. “Well if God is not showing up right
now I better be ready for Plan B.”
Is that complete trust may I ask?

Today is day 13 of being back in Malaysia. I’ve been ‘told’
to get a job in the kindergarten a few doors down, go back and work in the
secondary school where I used to teach, work a few years anywhere to “rest from
being on the field” and then go back out on the field later. Lots of probably
well-meaning suggestions, but not necessarily God.

You can be sure I’ve been asking God what He wants me to do.
I thought I would be able to go on another mission trip that really struck a
chord with my heart but alas that fell through. So what now? I don’t know. I
wish God would answer quickly too, but He hasn’t. He just says “Wait”.

“Being a people
focused on His presence means that we are willing to live beyond reason. Not
impulsively or foolishly, for these are poor imitations for real faith. The
realm beyond reason is the world of obedience to God. Obedience is the
expression of faith, and faith is our claim ticket to the God realm. Strangely,
this focus on His presence causes us to become like wind, which is also the
nature of the Holy Spirit. His nature is powerful and righteous, but His ways
cannot be controlled. He is unpredictable”.

–  “When Heaven Invades Earth” by Bill Johnson

So I wait. I don’t try and help God or be God. I “trust (my life) to the God who created (me),
for He will never fail (me).”
