This month our team, Breaking Bread, lived in Penang Georgetown, Malaysia.
We worked with YWAM, and was able to pick from four different ministries.
We were with Team Eat Pray Love, and our leaders told us to pray where God was calling us to the four.
There was Kawan, the homeless shelter, where you would go and feed the homeless and hang out with them.
The Cafe, where you worked at a coffee shop, and just loved on customers.
The Art studio.. where you did art.
And the hospital, where you raised money for children who needed heart surgeries, but could not afford it.
Jesus told me the hospital.
So I went.
We had a goal to raise 25,000 ringgit, which was about $8,000 USD.
Alot of money for 20 days of ministry, right?
Well, they gave us a goal, and we tried our heardest to reach it.
We asked for donations from anyone and everyone.
We sold puzzles for 10 ringgit each, (3.5USD)
And we sang.
Alot.
By the end of the month, we had raised 18,600.
Which is pretty dang good if you ask me.
This month we were also able to visit a few villages in the jungle.
A Muslim village, and a Christian village.
We gave food to them, like they do every Saturday.
And these Malay people reminded me of Africa so much!
They were dark skinned, dark hair, and just so dang adorable.
We were the first white people they had ever seen,
And a few of the kids were scared.
But hey, I would be too!
This month was a pretty hard month, but definitely one of my favorites.
I will be posting another blog later, but for now..
Enjoy my video from this month.
And please, don't forget to comment.
It really does make me feel good when I receive loving comments! 🙂
