Wednesday Prayer is the usual event we attend every week to pray and sit in the presence of the Lord & worship. It’s a space created at our home church here (Horizon) to sit in solitude and wrap our head around what God really wants for us as individuals. Every time we walk into the church there is a man at the door to take our temps and give us hand sanitizer yunno, just casual covid stuff. So by this time, I’ve said “¡HOLA!” & “¿Cómo está?” to this guy probably 8 times. Not once have I seriously had a conversation with this guy or even asked his name, which if you knew me, is pretty uncommon considering I talk to every single person I pass by. So, I showed up to prayer about 40 minutes early this day because (i’m not gonna front) the wifi at the church is amazing & I really planned to just sit on my phone before everyone arrived. This time, God really had different plans, crazy right?? So I’m sitting with Morgan, talking about how I’ve never truly got to know the “temperature taker guy” & I really wanted to just talk to him. She told me he was a runner & instantly I was thinking “ok, perfect we have something in common to talk about”. Next thing you know, I’m walking up to this guy & just say “heyyyy, you’re a runner?!” and his face LIGHTS UP…. like he was just waiting for someone to ask him this question. He goes on to tell me about his training for championships in Costa Rica & his goal to go to the Olympics & I’m completely blown away by his heart for the sport. After, he showed me this super inspiring Youtube video he made that literally made me tear up. WATCH IT! Cristian’s Running Video He mentioned that the video made him feel those feelings he had forgotten all about. It re grounded him & reminded him of why & how he has gotten to the place he is now. Cristian uses running as a platform to express his love & gratefulness towards God & it certainly moved me.

Our paths crossed for a reason, there was something I needed to hear, a place I needed the fire to be reignited in me. I saw purpose from the moment Cristian spoke that I was placed in this conversation at a time when I needed to be remidned of God’s mercy and grace. As Cristian shared his testimony with me, an image was portrayed in my head. I saw the hand of God, it was filled with water and inside of it was Cristian swimming around freely. It describes the freedom in Cristian’s life as the new creation he became when he was just 15 years old. Cristian’s passion for his trust in the Lord’s plan is extremely inspiring to not only myself but others around him. He gives off a sense of knowing that his completeness is in God alone & that through whatever is to come, God will continue to hold him as he swims throughout life.

Thank you God for Cristian’s heart. Thank you for the people you have placed in his life as brothers & sisters in Christ. Every single person has the chance to be made new in this life, to start over & that’s exactly what you have given to Cristian, the opportunity to break a generational curse & be a loving man of God & some day an amazing father. You knew his passions before he was born, you knew his entire story but you knit it together so perfectly to create an abundance of joy & peace to flow freely from him. I pray a huge blessing over Cristian that his life & actions will always lift you higher & that he knows that he is never walking (or running lol) alone. Amen!!!!

Love always,
