There Is Power

What exactly is power? The definition of power is the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality. Another definition says the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events.

Overall, power is something with a lot of force in one way or another. In life we could use this word for many things. When someone has a job that is at a higher level they usually have more power than those with a job under them. Sometimes we let others have power over us and tell us what to do. This world often makes people feel like they don’t have a place. Depression is a horrible thing people around the world struggle with on a daily basis. When we have others over us telling us what to do or making us feel smaller and smaller every day, we start feeling powerless over our own lives. Those who have power in their job or over their family, a lot of the time are still not always satisfied and begin to feel powerless as well. The truth is, power within ourselves is only temporary. In a moment something could happen and the power we once had is shifted. Power is something that people strive for but than once finding it, they’re still disappointed because it’s not all that they thought it would be. There are still the doubts, worries, hurts and pains that come along with this lost world.

What would you say if I told you there is one power that can actually satisfy all your needs? Because there truly is such a thing. Jesus Christ is all you need in your life to find that true happiness so many are searching for..

Because of sin we all have our own hurts, disappointments and struggles in our life. God is greater than all of those struggles. That feeling of being trapped in a life not able to find a way out, can end in His name. God created each and every one of us individually and we are his masterpiece. His love for us is unconditional and He wants the very best for us. There’s a song by Jesus Culture called , Break Every Chain. This song says, “there is power in the name of Jesus.” When we lay our lives at the feet of Jesus, He can break the chains and bondages that were struggling with. Jesus freely gave His life for our redemption to cover our sins. We are sinful people but because of His love for us we are saved. He Breaks the chains that are holding us hostage in this dark world and he wants to bring light to the darkness of your own life.

Think about your life, all the good and all the bad. Where are you today?

Imagine the struggles and being stuck in this dark room alone. There are chains wrapped around you and restraining you from moving. The chains represent the things in your life drowning and suffocating you. One chain of hurt is from your past. Another being feelings of disappointment or failure. Every single thing you struggle with including the feelings towards yourself, the feelings towards others, the things that have just failed in your life, a wrong turn you made along the way that you can’t change now or anything else that hurts you. Each and every one of those have become a chain that is suffocating you. In the dark room you squirm trying to get out of the chains, panicking when there’s nothing you can do to break them. Through the struggling you look up and you see a light in the distance moving closer. You start to calm down because you have faith that the small light has to be someone coming to help. This new sense of peace begins to comfort you. In your desperate time of need, you know you have no other choice but to ask them for help. That little light grows bigger and brighter each step that brings it closer. The light symbolizes Jesus Christ. It’s funny because sometimes we feel like God has left us when we’re in a time of need. Why is it that when we want someone to help us we ask them for their help but when it comes to God we sometimes don’t reach out to ask for His help? When you call on the Lord the light in your life will begin to grow. He is the one and only that can break the chains and bondages that are suffocating you in life. When you learn to trust, have faith and reach out for his help He will break those chains. This is the meaning of power. God is our father and He wants nothing more than to take care of His children. Just as any earthly dad wants to protect and take any hurt away from his children, our heavenly father wants to do the same for each and every one of us. When you learn to let His light shine in your life you will begin to see all the amazing things He’s doing. The chains will be broken, the hurt will be gone and the joy and happiness will start to overflow your life. When you shut a door nothing can get in until the door is open. God loves you enough to give you a choice and when you decide to open that door and allow Him in, your life is going to change in incredible ways. So when you feel powerless in this life, ask yourself where you’re looking for that power to fill it.

For me, God is the definition of power. With the power of God in my life, I truly need nothing more. It’s not about a certain position in a job or a role over someone else. Its about the power I choose to let take over my life and there’s no better power than that of Jesus Christ. The more I choose to open the curtains and let God’s light in, the more I begin to see joy and happiness flood my life and the things that once suffocated me begin to fade into the distance. Those hurts and pains become nothing more than a memory and testimony I can now use to glorify the one who brings me happiness. I no longer have to be a slave in chains because I have a Father in heaven who has saved me from it all and is breaking the chains.

Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

This trip has helped me focus on the light and show me the things that were suffocating me. I have grown so much on this trip and still have a lot to grow in my relationship with God. This month we are in a country I cannot name. We have been helping with English, helping in a safe home for sex trafficked girls/women and some of us have visited a women’s prison. Being here has been incredible and I can just feel God moving and becoming that little light in the lives of people around me.

God has called me here for a reason and I know He will take care of me and strengthen me now and through to the end.  I am still fundraising but I’ve ALMOST reached my final deadline. My final deadline is due at the end of November (so this month). I only need $1,471 to be fully funded and able to finish the next 7 months on this incredible journey with God. If you would like to partner with me by donating you can do that at the top of my page by hitting the donate link.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support. Your support has been so encouraging and uplifting for me and I am blessed with each and every one of you, whether I know you or not. Please let me know if there is any way I could be praying for you.

With love, yours in Christ,

Paxtyn:)
