In Over My Head
I started listening to the words of this song a little more closely and really felt like God was speaking to be through it. I felt Him saying this is you, I have called you out of your comforts to follow me and I am the strength that will get you through each step.
I am at a point in my life that I know I have grown so much and I am so excited about. But I’m not satisfied, I want more and more of God in my life. I want to be so full of the Holy Spirit that the joy is just overflowing in my life all the time. I want Him to come and do what He wants to do in my life, no matter how hard or scary it may be for me. Because I know He will be by my side every step of the way and God has brought me further and further from my past and deeper into His presence. I am His and He crashes over me and shows me what I have been through and why. He shows me how amazing it is to have him over my life and I have become ‘beautifully in over my head’ in my relationship with him. I have grown so much but like a child I want to walk by my fathers side and learn from Him. I want to know Him on a deeper level and follow His guidance for my life. My heart is full when I’m pushing into His presence.
The other night I had a team mate come over with this same song and said it reminds her of me. After she went through the song explaining why each line reminded her of me, I asked her to write down those down for me. It meant so much to me that God had brought this song up for her to speak to me through it and just wanted to share the things she spoke over me through it.

First I’ll list the verses of the songs and right under each I’ll put down what she had said.
“I have come to this place in my life// I’m full, but I’m not satisfied// this longing to have more of You.”
~Your heart is full in the Lord, but you are always searching and wanting to grow deeper.
“You already know this, but still come and do whatever you want to.”
~You have given the Lord free reign of your life. And no matter what He does, you will always prove faithful.
“I’m standing knee deep, but I’m out where I’ve never been.”
~You are brave. You have a willing heart that loves the Lord. You will go do things you have never done before in order for the Kingdom of God to be known.
“Would you come and tear down the boxes that I have tried to put you into, let love come teach me who you are again.”
~You have always known God, but you’re starting to give Him power over your life!
“Would you take me back to the place where my heart was only about you and all I wanted was just to be with you.”
~Your childlike faith brings you back to what your faith looked like when you first knew God. Your life was once about God, then you strayed from the path, and now you know God again.
“And further and further my heart moves away from the shore. Whatever it looks like, whatever may come I am yours.”
~You keep moving further and further out of your comfort zone for Jesus. You are moving away from all thats steady / secure (land) and moving deeper into the water.
“Whatever it looks like, whatever may come I am yours.”
~Your God is the Lord over your life. And He always will be!
“Then you crash over me and I’ve lost control but I’m free.”
~You have no control over your life because you’ve surrendered it to God. But there is much freedom that comes through surrender.
~I see Jesus in you, Paxtyn!
This girl has been by my side since day one of this journey and I am blessed God has given me such an amazing friendship. Thank you so much Kirsten for listening to God and speaking into my life. I know this is one of those friendships that will last forever and distance won’t be able stand in the way. You are an amazing person and are the best example of someone following God with your whole heart.
