We’ve made it to Kenya safely and we
couldn’t be happier to be here. We’re staying about 8 hours north
of Nairobi close to the border of Uganda and Kenya. Our team is
living in a little house with our bedrooms separated by bed sheets
and we even have a little pet mouse that likes to poke his head out
now and then. Africa is kind of how I pictured it to look. Amazing
landscapes with dirt roads and little African children chasing behind
the truck your riding in yelling, “foreigners, foreigners!” in
Swahili.

This month we have the amazing opportunity to be
partnering with a pastor and evangelistic church. We get to go door
to door giving the locals pieces of encouragement and sharing the
love of Christ with them. We have visited many homes in the past 2
days of ministry but there is one home that we visited that makes
this entire trip worth it.

I was expressing to my team that we
have had so many different types of ministry, construction projects,
teachings, bible classes, etc. But I still felt like I hadn’t
completed what I came on this trip for: To show people Christ’s
love and bring them into an everlasting relationship with our
heavenly father. And that brings me to this one small mud house in
rural Bukembe, Kenya.

We entered the house of a woman who was
by herself probably doing some house chores. She promptly invited
Katrina, Dan, Pastor and I into her home. (The people here are the
most hospitable people I’ve ever encountered. They would insist on
visitors to come and sit for a cup of tea.) We sat down and Pastor
introduced us and told her what we are doing here and our passion to
spread the love of God. He started to ask her if she was saved and
whether that was something that wanted to do. She explained that she
was raised catholic but did not have Jesus as her personal saviour.
She then said that that’s something that she wanted. She wanted to
have a personal relationship with God. There was someone right in
front of me who didn’t know God and wanted to be a part of this
family. That was when Pastor looked to me and asked me to lead her in
a prayer and said that she wanted to accept salvation.

Boom! My heart almost stopped!

Do you believe in your heart that Jesus
died on the cross for our sins and rose again

Do you confess with your mouth that
Jesus is Lord and ask for forgiveness?

“Yes.” She answered.

I then prayed for her while the Pastor
translated and in a short 2 minutes it was over. I had just led a
woman to salvation with our God! I didn’t think it was possible, I
didn’t think I knew enough. But God gave me the words to speak and
I give Him all the glory! Our God is so good!

The word of God is spreading fast in
this country and the people here are very receptive. Keep praying for
this woman, that she will continue to pursue a relationship with God
and continue to grow in her faith.

Buenos asa fe way!

Praise the Lord!
