Funniest
moment

Paul
starting our team’s quote book ex. “I’m straddling a Guatemalan right now, but
it’s ok, he’s smiling.” – Paul (while in a shuttle with 18 people)
Katrina
running down a scary road at night with Ash and Erwin on a chase for
tortillas; we knocked on several neighbour’s doors and got barked at by dogs
that turn into ware wolves at night

Time I saw God
move

PaulWhen
I prophesied over Ben at Launch (check out “Prophesy, is it real?” for the
story)
Katrina
Asking for personal change, trusting in Him for it to happen and
realizing that it did

Best thing I
ate

Paul
papusas! Stuffed tortillas with cheese and mushrooms
Katrina
– Dominga’s cooking. She’s an incredible Guatemalan lady who cooked all of
our meals at Casa de Sion; always healthy, always organic, always plentiful

Who we’re
going to miss the most

Both – Erwin; an 8 year old boy who
became our little brother this month. We played Frisbee and soccer, chased
chickens, went for walks and loved him when others labeled him a delinquent

Something I
learned

PaulHow
to make a rock wall “gaviones” with my hands and limited tools
Katrina l- Fellowship is so important; I am inspired by people who have given up
their lives to share God’s love in unique ways

Craziest thing
we did

Both – Rode in the back of a pickup
truck with 5 people and our packs in the pouring rain over washed out roads to
arrive at our ministry site

Most
challenging moment

PaulThe
language barrier; not being able to fully express myself to the locals when I
had something to say
Katrina
Being cold; the first 2 weeks I was freezing every night, but thanks to
more blankets and people’s prayers I found warmth

Most fun
moment

Both – Ziplining above Lake Attitlan,
seeing monkeys, crossing suspension bridges and cramming 8 people into a
tuc-tuc

Most rewarding
moment

Both – Finishing the “gaviones” (rock
wall) after a month of working on them every day

Most beautiful site
Both – Lake
Attitlan.
KatrinaWhen Becca and I took a boat from Panajachel to
San Pedro on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning
