I just wanted to take a few moments to update our followers/supporters on what life will look like for us this month. We arrived as a squad in Malaysia on April 1st and spent two days in Little India just exploring and having fun. It is always such a joy when we reunite, because we get to spend time with our friends on other teams.

We got to see the Petronis Towers (famous landmark of Malaysia), visit several massive shopping centres, take various forms of public transportation and enjoy some yummy American food.

This month looks a lot different for Paul and me, as it’s “man-istry” and “woman-istry” on the World Race. That means that we’ll be apart for the month, living in community with separate teams of men and women and doing different ministries. It was a hard decision for us to be apart (we haven’t been away from each other for more than 4 days during our marriage), but we feel that God has a plan during this time.

Paul is in northern Malaysia – in the very centre of the country; they travelled there via overnight train yesterday. I believe they’ll be doing some sort of construction or manual labour for the month. Meanwhile, I’m living on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur with a team of 8 girls. We’re volunteering with a wonderful church and will have the opportunity to be a part of several different ministries: teaching at a school for Sri Lankan refugee children, mentoring and tutoring young women and girls at a shelter, and doing administrative tasks in the church office.

I’m excited about how the Lord will use us this month. We would love for you to keep us in your prayers – for safety and good health, and that we will both grow closer to God during our absence of one another.

Many blessings to all of you! May I leave you with the very first picture I took here? … This sign was inside the bathroom stall at the airport – just in case you’re not sure how to use a Western toilet…    🙂
