In a mere 25 15 days we will move out of our apartment, return to our hometown, visit friends and family, pack 2 backpacks and say goodbye to everyone for the next 11 months. Preparing to leave has been pretty overwhelming; it takes a lot to get your life in order, but we rest assured that it will all be worth it. We’re confident that this is exactly where God wants us and we’re grateful for the blessings we’ve received. It’s hard to describe the emotions we’re feeling right now – so excited to serve in our first country of Guatemala, ecstatic to be reunited with our amazing team and B-squad, yet terrified for the ever-approaching goodbyes and sad to leave Canada and all that’s familiar.
Our World Race wouldn’t be possible without the support of so many generous people who donate, pray and support. We’d like to share with you 25 ways you can help us over the next 25 days so that we can help others for eternity. We’ve included some things that we still need personally for the trip. If you’d like to help out with anything listed below, please comment at the bottom of this blog. We can’t wait to share this journey with YOU.
1.DONATE!!!
Thanks to the incredible support that we have received we are currently 66% funded (including pledges). We feel honoured to be the Lord’s hands and feet as we share his love with those who are hurting, lonely, orphaned and sick around the world. Your financial support enables us to reach these people and make a difference in their communities. We still need $9704.
–> If you would like a tax receipt for your donation please mail cheques to:
Orillia Community Church
64 Colborne St. E
Orillia, Ontario
L3V 1T6
and be sure to include our names on the memo line!!
2.Pray for our team “Transformation Station”.
We are so blessed to serve alongside these wonderful people and know that we will learn so much from each other. Please pray for unity and understanding.
3.Subscribe to our blog
We’ll be sharing stories from each ministry opportunity and every country. We’d love for you to share our stories with your friends and family.
4.Give $11 for 11 months
If only 80 people commit to donating $11 / month we will be completely funded! $11 is the cost of one movie ticket, one lunch out, or _____. You won’t even notice the difference, but we will. Our budget includes $3.75/day for all food.
5.Buy us an outlet converter that works in Central America, Asia and Africa.
6.Buy us a travel sized surge protector to protect our electronics from being zapped!
7.Pray for our marriage and all the ways that we will grow together this year and be an example for those we will be surrounded by.
8.Pray for the people we will meet.
