This month we are doing something called Ask the Lord. We have no contact or ministry site to work with. Normally we have some place to live and have food cooked for us but this month we need to find food for about $1.50 a meal in the town.   We also only have about $5 per person per night for lodging.

God has been showing up in some cray ways this month and I want to share 3 of the stories that have happed so far that have stuck out to me.

After our Christmas celebration with the squad was done it was time to start ministry for the month. We needed to stay in the capital for the first few days since the Squad Leaders needed time to rest and have meeting.   On the 2nd day after Christmas we decided to bless some of the homeless people around the place where we were staying. We made gift bags with water and some snakes in them to give to them. Some of the people were open to talking with us and some were not. There was one man who was sitting down on some cardboard and just not looking to happy. So we gave him a bag and started talking to him. One of my teammates asked if he was hungry and liked a local dish (can’t remember the name but it was rice and chicken wrapped up in an egg, it was enough for a meal) and he sad that he did like it. Me and Ralph talked with him more and found out that he use to work at the newspaper company but then he had a problem with his foot and could no longer work. He said that he needed 25 ringet ($5) to get a taxi to the hospital (I am not sure if he had the $ for the medicine that he needs or if there is some kind of government program for homeless people) and he only had 7. One of my teammates gave him 20 and he broke into tears, he said that he had a relationship with God . I got to remind him that even though he is on the street God had not forgotten him and was still there with him.

Another guy we got to meet when we did street ministry with a local church that goes out and prays for people to be healed and then shares about Jesus with them. We went with one of their leaders and went down a street and got to talk to some of the people who pick though trash to find things that they can recycle and get some money for them. After talking with them we went walking down the street and a guy was pushing a shopping cart that was full of garbage bags full of plastic bottles the bags started to fall off when we were there so the leader from the church helped push the cart to where the other guys were. We asked if he had any pain and he said in his leg. So we prayed and the pain went away. We told him that it was Jesus but he kept saying Allah, but we told him no it was Jesus.

This another story from the same night

We went into the Asian town and walked down the street and found a restaurant and started to talk to the guy that was there. He told us that he was a professional golfer and that he had back and shoulder but that was normal. We told him that it was not normal to have pain and we got to pray for him and the pain went away. He was confused and we went down to a table outside the restaurant and stated to tell him about Jesus and he accepted him into his heart. I was not at that table since another guy had some questions about what just happened. He said that he was prayed for but his pain just came back. He was unsure about if they prayed to Jesus or not but the thing that we did was just show him what God can do and we also prayed for him that the pain would not come back. Every week the same person goes to the same area to check on the people if they need checking in on. So it is not just a one time prayer with no follow-up.

We did not know where we were going though out the first few days but we got to meet some amazing people and I am excited for what God has next for us to do.
