To find out what I did for the first part of the month check our my last blog post

During the second half of the month we arrived at our contacts house to a room for the guys and a room for the girls that had air and much better beds to sleep on. We had American food for our meals with a Asian twist on some of them (rice was added to most of the meals). We also had to ride bikes around the town to get to where we did ministry for each day. Driving though Laos was rough at first. There were a lot of cars on the roads and even more motorcycles that were all sharing the road. The motorcycles drove between cars and us to get to where they were going faster. At first we had a hard time keeping together but as the month went by we got better at communicating and staying in a straight line so we did not run into each other.

When we arrived at the location where we were going to work there were several things that needed to be done and one of them was painting a wall that had a mural and we were asked to paint over it. I was shocked that we were asked to paint over it, it was something that I did not expect to do on the World Race. It took several layers of paint to go over it and make it so it could not be seen anymore. We were not asked to paint a new one once it was finished due to it being our last day of working at that site.

For the rest of the month we mainly painted. We had to prime a new room that was just concreate and we painted it pumpkin orange once the primer coat was done. At that same location we painted the office with a new coat of paint. We painted the pillars but we were given the wrong color and only did the base to the top of the room. Later that week we finished with painted the rest of the beams supporting the room that had the other color on it.

On Mondays we played soccer in the field with the local missionaries from the area where we were staying. I played lava monster type games with the younger bunch that were there and on the last day I played soccer with the rest of them since it would be the last time that I would see them until I get to heaven.

This month God showed me that even though we might not see the end product with mainly painting for the second half of the month. There are also time when you might not be able to see the end product, like when we set up a barbed wire fence around the land to keep people who do not need to be there out, but you know that his goal is to reach the local community with a source of income for his ministry so he can do what God has called him to. (We did not do any preaching since Laos is a closed country where we could get kicked out for preaching, if you are a local doing it you will get arrested). But in the end you know God has you there for a reason even if you do not see it in the moment that you are there, you know that you are planning seeds that will one day be ready to be harvested
