These past few days my team has been in Vlore for unsung heroes, and got to meet many people who are doing God’s work here in this city of 100,000. There are only 100 Christens here in this city, and only 4 churches.

According to one of the pastors here the people who are begging, kids, women who are carrying around babies (sometimes they are dead and sometimes they do not even have a real baby), men who have a baby who has been given drugs to make them look sick are working for someone. So if you give them money, it does not go to them, rather it goes to the person they are working for. When I first saw this, I gave them some money, and they went on their way. Now that I know this it is so hard for me to just walk by them and just tell them no, even though I can give them money. But here is the good news, Brother Church is looking to start reaching out to them, and give them food and baby supplies and be able to share the word of God with them. These people are ready to hear the word of God in their own language, they just need the funds and God to move though them to reach out to them.

I am surprised that this early in the race I have seen an injustice that I can do nothing about. But God has been teaching me that even though I can’t do anything for them right now, I can pray for them, I can pray for the church here to get the needed funds to reach out to them and share the love of God with this city.

God has also been showing me that during this month of asking him where to go and who to meet that does not mean that we are not furthering his kingdom. On one day that we did not meet anyone we decided to go out in groups of 2 and 3 and ask God where we were to go and who we were to meet. So my group found this shop the grinds coffee beans for money and we were talking to the young woman who was with their mom who did not speak English. After talking with her we learned that her dream was to go to America and find a job, and some day get married but could not since they would not make enough to live together. Me and Kirsten got a chance to pray with her for her hopes and dreams and we all (Cameron was with us also) got a word of wisdom that God wanted her to know that he was the good father and that even though her relationship with her earthly father was not good that the Heavenly father was the good father and she broke in tears after we said that. We got to encourage her and then we left and walked around the city for the rest of the day, but nothing else major happened in our group.
