For the last part of our ATL month we went to a very small town near KL. It was about 3 hours on the bus from where we were at. About half way we stop a bus station for a break. We were told that it would be about 30 minutes till we were going to get going again. So I decided to go to the 7/11 and get some food since I was hungry. I found out that while my food was cooking that we needed to transfer buses and only had 5 minutes to do so even though my food had 6 minutes left to cook. It did not heat up all the way but since it was fully cooked I ate it anyways. After we get back on the bus it was a smooth trip back to where we were going.
Once we get there we are greeted by an energetic man who is so eager to see us. He took us out to dinner and the food was amazing. We get to the prayer mountain and then drop our stuff off and then he takes us up to the top of the mountain. We talked about what he does and some stories, he wanted to go on for another few hours but we were all tired from the long travel day and all that we had been though on the past few days.
We get up the next morning at 6am to get to the top before the sun came up over the mountain. The valley was full of clouds and it was very beautiful place to be. We then started to do some yard work that needed to be done around the land. I was asked to trim grass with a rusty paint cutter. While we worked he wanted 1 person to always be on the top of the mountain spending time with God while up there. We could sing, make music, read the bible or anything else we felt like the Lord wanted us to do. We also had to go to town every few days to get food to cook. One day the ladies that normally cook were not there so I cooked the fish that they caught earlier that day for dinner. For the first week we painted a fence and it was hard since the fence just seemed to eat the paint.
For the second week we planned a nonstop 72 hours of prayer on the mountain. We each took a 4 hour shift every day for 3 days so we would always have one person up on the top of the mountain. For me it was a little challenging to spend that much time non-stop with God since there were other people up there as well making noise and distracting me. But spending that much time with God was amazing. For me it more time than I have ever spent with God outside of a church camp.
I can see an entire Squad going there and they would grow a lot since there is very limited Wi-Fi and the Wi-Fi that is there is not very good. We grew a lot as a team there, even though we were only there for 10 days it brought us close together even though we were going to have team changes in the next few days.
