My name is Paul Koenen. I have lived in the same place for 25 years with my mom, dad and younger sister (who now lives in Texas) in St.Paul, Minnesota. I just got my 4 year degree in Information Assurance (Information Technology degree) and was looking for a full time job until I got a whisper in my ear to go on the World Race. (I am still looking for a temporary Information Technology job until I leave in September 2014).
Currently I work at an AMC theater in the st. Paul area, so if you see me there say hi. I have been working there for over 7 years I mainly usher and from time to time I will be in the concession stand. If there is a busy more there and I am working chances are you might see me helping people find seats in a sold out show.
I currently volunteer in my church’s Youth Department in the Sr. High Department for over 6 years this summer. I have seen God do amazing things (blog will be posted later and linked here when it is done) though this ministry. I also have grown closer to God and have seen him work in the students life and radically change it for the better.
One thing I hope to do post trip is share with people from my church and my friends about what I did on this trip, maybe even the world #Godsizeddream. The biggest thing I want to do is to show how God is moving though the world though young people. I am not sure how I am going to do this yet but I might put together a video of each country and what I did in each place and post it to my blog. One way that I hope to do this would be though creating a short video summery of what God did that month. Another Thing I hope to do is create a short Video of what a water well does for people since this year. The Students in my Church are trying to raise $50,000 for clean water for Africa, the main reason would to be to put some faces with what they did. Another thing I would like to do is make another Video of a need in the world such as Human Trafficking show the faces and show the hope/ help they can get though Jesus.
