This past month (April 2010) all of the“K” squad guys worked together in ministry. We worked with an organization called YWAM and they sent us into the
rural/jungle area of Thailand for MAN-ISTRY. You might be wondering
what MAN-ISTRY is all about… well it is a time when men get to be men.

construction project working with our contact Arun (pronounced Aroon)
and his beautiful wife Pang (pronounced Bang). The construction project
included moving lots of dirt, sand, and rock
to prepare for a concrete pour, then mixing and pouring the concrete. Even though we were brought to Thailand for a construction project (as our ministry focus), this month was so much more.
The focus of our trip ended up being
each other and learning what it truly means to be men of God. The month was
a great time to share, learn, and grow as men of God during our morning bible studies and evening discussions. During this time we discussed
many issues and topics including men’s need for respect versus
wom
en’s need to feel loved, men’s fear of failure and how it
translates to intimacy issues with other people and with God, pursuing
God to find our future wives, and what it means to be a good listener for the women in our lives (do not try and fix things) and if we learn to become better listeners we can experience new ways to hear from God.
Another issue we discussed had to do with books, or the lack of books being published for women to read about men (except for “Wild At Heart”). Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to come up with a MAN-ual. This MAN-ual (which will be coming in later blogs) is for people seeking to understand what it means to be a man of God.
On a lighter note we created a funny video for laughs, but was deemed inappropriate for this site. If you are interested in watching it, you can find it on Facebook or go to vimeo.com and do a search for “MAN-ISTRY: If I Was Jesus”. Besides being funny, the video also shows all of the adventures we had during
month. Enjoy!
