Hi peeps! I am so so excited and blessed that you are reading this and decided to visit my World Race blog page! For those of you who may not know me- my name is Patti McClelland and I am going on the WR Gap Semester in January of 2020. WOO HOO!!!!! I will be traveling to Columbia, Ecuador, and Peru for 6 months to do mission work and share the love of Jesus with people who so desperately need it. Anyways… this is the blog where I will be sharing all of my stories, pictures, experiences, and lessons throughout my mission.
I am 20 years old, from Atlanta, GA, and currently a sophomore at Auburn University. Auburn has been my dream school for as long as I can remember and I have loved every second of my time here. However, I woke up one morning about a month and a half ago and found myself asking God: “Is this all that there is for me?” After my father passed away, I began “going through the motions” of life to distract myself and never slowed down enough to reflect with Christ about what was right for me and what wasn’t. SOOOOOO… with that being said, I came to the realization that I no longer belong at Auburn and that God has other plans for me. I have never been good with the unknown, but this journey has really allowed me to surrender myself to the Lord and trust that greater things have yet to come.
My soul is on fire for God’s people and I am awed by the fact that I get to learn how to connect with, care for, and understand more of them. He has placed a heavy calling on my heart to chase after His love all over the world. It has been tough for me to process some of the things I will be seeing and experiencing on the field, but I am ready for my heart to break for what breaks God’s heart. I want to help make God’s people feel seen and noticed and cared after. I am so incredibly excited to start working on my calling and be the hands that help God provide for His people.
Thank you for reading a little bit of my story and for all of the prayers and support, it means so much to me!
