“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” Luke ?10:5-9?

This is Kristin, our “person of peace” in Malang. She helped us find lodging, connected this team to local contacts, and has shown us the best local dishes to eat. She’s also been healed from shoulder pain on two different occasions. It’s been a Luke 10 kind of month here in Indonesia!

Kristin has such a heart for service and encouragement. She recently moved back here after studying abroad and hasn’t had the easiest transition; it’s felt like she’s just going through the motions with work, not knowing what God has for her next. We’ve been able to encourage her to seek more of God’s purpose in her life. Kristin also loves to laugh and spend time with friends, which she says has been lacking since returning home. And dude there has not been a shortage of that these two weeks! It’s been such a blessing to connect with her.

One of my favorite parts about squad leading is seeing the way teams pursue the locals. We went to a bible study at the university and had the chance to talk to the students afterwards. One world racer, Kailey, gave a word encouraging a girl to write down her dreams and to start dreaming big with God. Later on I saw Kailey speaking a lot into the girl’s life; she was tearing up from the love of Papa.

There are more moments, but I just wanted to share a glimpse into why I do what I do. I love getting to be with the teams and see them go out in faith being the light of Christ to people. It’s like a proud parent moment…even if some of them are older than me haha.

This squad is on fire to bring the Kingdom of God everywhere they go! One of our teams led a family to Christ, other teams have seen healings, served in schools…praise God for what He’s doing in Indonesia. Please be praying for safety, rest, and divine opportunities to share the love of Jesus! Here’s an update from Andrea, one of the girls on the squad, about their time in a remote village:

I recently arrived in West Java where I will join another one of our teams for the next week. I’m expectant for more of His love and truth to be poured out on this team. Thank you to everyone for the support and prayers. I can’t thank you enough.

Much love.
