This is the last night I will spend in America for 11 months.
We’ve been in a hotel in Atlanta for three days. We’ve all heard far too many “inspirational talks”. We’re biting at the bit to start the path before us.
Despite our frustration, it will be hard to say goodbye to three-quarters of our squad tomorrow as each team goes their separate ways. This realization brings to light how much will be missed throughout the year.
I am sorry for the lives I will miss while I am away. I am sorry for the weddings I cannot celebrate and the new babies I cannot greet. I am sorry for those who know I love them, but will not be able to hear it from me directly.
