Leah and Allison have had a significant impact on one of the ladies working at our second hostel in San Juan del Sur. As they discussed with her their work as missionaries, she spoke with an air of guilt that she was not Christian. Despite this, throughout their conversation she expressed many beliefs of Christianity as her own.

They discovered she simply meant she does not attend church. They assured her that she can be Christian without attending church. They spoke life and hope into her, freeing her from a rigid legalistic view of Christianity.

Since this conversation, I have seen Leah helping with some of the lady's work from time to time. At these times, I've seen a new air of confidence and joy in the woman's demeanor.

Two days ago, Allison and Leah took Lydiette out for coffee. She told them that it meant the world to her because she works all the time and has little time for friends. (It probably meant that much more that people who are staying in the hostel where she works wanted to take their own time to spend with her. Way to go Allison and Leah!)

Yesterday she brought them mangoes she had picked fresh from a tree in her yard, simply as an act of kindness. The ladies of our team have one more outing planned with Lydiette before we leave next week.

Their experiences with Lydiette are a beautiful reminder that no matter the nature of our relationships, we always have the opportunity to incorporate more love into each and every one of them.

Thanks for the lesson… ladies.
