Look out world…Here we come! Yes, after months of wondering who was goin to be lucky enough to be on MY team, we finally know who we will be spending every waking moment with. On the last full day of training camp, our teams were announced. We were all so excited. It seemed like since everyone clicked and got along so quickly, that there would be no combination of people that anyone would have a problem with. Tara, our team leader, stepped up with her note cards and made the announcement. It was such a sigh of relief to get that question answered. All week long, Zach and I had been placed on the same practice teams, so we had a pretty good idea that we would be paired up. What a great feeling that was for me! Our sense of humor and passions for sports, pranks, and life matched up so well. Zach is the kinda guy who keeps it real, has a great time, but also is that voice of reason when I get too into one of my crazy ideas. Jessie M, the “Yankee” of the group as I like to think of her, was another addition that I was thrilled about. I don’t think I ever saw this girl be serious for too long during training. She has such a fun, energetic, loving attitude that she wishes to share with world. Something tells me her crazy antics will get us in some very funny situations on this trip. Maithili, our nurse, has such a soft voice. It seems like she is always in a calm and peaceful place of mind. Her gentleness in life amazes me and makes me thrive to be like that. Theres no doubt in my mind that she will have major impacts on everyone around her with how caring and compassionate she will be. Jess… no don’t call her the other Jessica or Jess 2. Jess E. is unique in her own ways. Shes not one to just stand there and look pretty. I love how open and sharing she is. She brings such boldness to the group that will no doubt help us get in the right direction. Even though she is an Aggie, she is a Texan and I love her playful, laidback attitude. Then theres Tara, our fearless team leader! This girl is an amazing woman of God. The vibe I get off her is something else. She is always looking out for others and meeting the needs of everyone around her. Her upbeat spirit and constant words of affirmation make me want to work alongside her at any job. This is the team a goofball like me is blessed to be with. A team who I will travel the world with and take light into the darkest corners of the world. I’m so thankful for them, but I’d be even more thankful if you would say a prayer for us at this time. Thanks.
