Ever said to someone: ‘If you had told me X number of years ago I’d be doing ‘this,’ I would have laughed in your face!’
That was me.
If someone had told me even just over a year ago that I’d be going on an 11 month mission trip, I probably wouldn’t have believed them.
Earlier last week I was talking with a close friend and she said,
“Trish, do you ever remember me telling you that my dad said you’d make a great missionary? Something along the lines of ‘She’d be to stubborn to give up if she ever did it!'”
Haha, oh do I ever remember this! I thought ‘Not a chance. This girl is not cut from the missionary cloth!’
Funny how God works.
Two years ago this Summer I went on my first mission trip to the Los Angeles Dream Center for 10 days.
I believe this is when God first started preparing to launch me into missions in a deeper way.
It was a little scary, very eye opening and humbling working with this ministry.
Coming back, I felt like more needed to be done but instead I pushed those feelings to the back burner and forgot about it.
Fast forward to the present day, and in just under 3 weeks I will be setting out on the World Race!
My advice now?
Never say never. Be open to where God might call you and how He will use you.
Listen for His voice. He will answer you.
When you hear His voice, don’t shake it off or dismiss what He’s put on your heart.
Be open and be willing.
